You're still wrong. I have a V4 and can review footage from the SD card.
Click "SD Card" and you can select what time you want to see.

Works better than it did in the past. Not sure if thats a software update or the newer camera.

I like the new v4. Each version has slightly different things about it. The v4 has twice the resolution, which means the feed looks better than the v3, but you won't be reading license plates at distance. The v4 has good color, meaning pretty true, slightly warmer than the v3. The v4 does not have the near infrared led option like the v3 has, so it has 4 dim red LEDs when seen at night. The v4 has a smart zoom feature that can be toggled. If there's motion within it's view, it automatically zooms in on it and follows it (pretty well, not real smooth though). It leaves a little picture in picture when this is activated, to show where in the field of view you're zoomed in on. I think the v4 loads about the same speed as the v3. So the OG cam still has has it beat as the fastest to pull up live view. But the OG is pretty quirky in my experience. Color balance is just a little weird, I get double notifications a lot if the subscription is activated for it, and I don't care for the vertical sd card scrolling. The v4 has the vertical scrolling, too. I can't compare the v3 on this because I currently don't have an SD card in the v3. I just recently set it back up to view my fish, lol.

The v4 is unreliable.
Check out Reddit for people's experiences.
Over the past few days, my camera has been offline - regardless of several power cycles for troubleshooting.
I'm glad I just use it to check in on my dog when I'm at work - I'd be annoyed if it was for anything important.
My Doorbell v2, floodlight pro, and v3s are working just fine.

People make stuff up based on their lazy experience of using the app lol
I checked both my V3 and V3 pan, I can only playback from SD only on the pan version. I see the SD card icon on the front menu (right below the camera view itself.)
However, I can't playback SD from the pan version. Pls advise?

Wyze is a terrible company with mediocre products. As someone with years of experience in their ecosystem, I'd suggest new users to stay clear. Ecosystems like TP-Link's Tapo line and Anker's Eufy brand are in the same budget niche, but they are much better maintained.
Thanks for the recommendations for alternatives. Do either of those have decent free app usage and at least some cloud recording free? I have no interest in dropping $100/year for services. I kind of miss one of my ancient DLink cameras. I was able to set it up to email 5 still pictures every time it caught motion, with pretty much no delay between motion issues, so I used it as an inside camera when I was on vacations. The free app alerted me of motion too and I could jump on it.

one thing i will mention is as someone within eufy system, i dislike that you can't view 2 streams at the same time. i wish that was possible and i believe it might be on other platforms.

If you don't want to pay for any plan, then don't get Wyze v4 Cam. With 5 minutes cool down, there are great chances you will miss important motion detection. And without paid plan, you don't get any AI detection features.
And as someone mentioned, in term of quality, Tapo C120s is better than Wyze v3 and should be just as good if not better than Wyze v4 also and don't have to pay extra to get AI detection stuff and there is no cool down.

And as far as the 3 major lower price brand Wyze v4, Eufy, Tapo/Kasa security camera that offer some features without any paid plan. I don't think without paid plan, they (specially Wyze v4) provide any cloud video recording for free. But you can record to SD card for free. Some of them you can probably setup RTSP to record it in some other devices.

Been thinking about swapping out my front porch v3 with this one and being on sale it seems like a good tie to try it out.

You can now view 4 streams at once under the monitoring tab in the app. I do have Cam Plus Unlimited with 9 cameras from 2 homes.

Buying too much stuff with gift card balance (:
I do that all the time with the stuff I return since I just have them put it on the account instead of waiting for it to process through credit cards. Didn't even know this was a reason they would lock you out!

I finally had to replace the SD card in my V3 Pan after a software update/outage. It totally bricked the card, it couldn't be recognized on my laptop after that update.

This should not be an issue. I was buying too much of the same stuff with my GC balance.

I was super disappointed in Wyze customer service. I had an issue with a floodlight. They refused to help me. Buyer beware.

My laptop didn't recognize it. I haven't tried any Windows utilities yet.
