Dude, people have tried before, I hope you realize that many people have stated that they would have to return the whole set EVEN THOUGH its not efficient and EVEN THOUGH they sell the same ones as singles, so if one of your plates is damaged, they make you return the whole order

Been lifting with these for the past year - you can definitely tell the quality is not great. That being said, unless you are competing or lift very heavy, I think they're fine for the average home gym.

You didn't clarify that also first thing people will do if they get a damaged plate in there set is call about there set not order another single plate although its not a bad option
