He also wants to sell you ✨️ tonewood ✨️ and tries to convince you that it dramatically affects the tone of an electric guitar in a way that cannot be verified or proven with science because ...violins.

So, I'm not sure Paul Reed Smith, the expensive electric guitar salesman who believes in magic, is someone that you should consider to be a trustworthy authority on the topic.

That config only works on a white '70s strat.

Can these Mexican Fender guitars take a replacement neck made in the USA? I find that Fender necks are too skinny, if I bought this and tried to put on an aftermarket neck like Warmoth, All Parts, Musikraft, ect, would it fit? I want to put on a very fat, large neck.

I think I read somewhere that the USA strats and teles can take replacement necks, but that they don't fit on the Mexican ones.

For 500, this is a buy if you're looking for a telecaster. They sound good, and play nice. They will need a set up by yourself or a tech 100 percent. My buddy got one and I helped him get it in playing shape. Get it, have fun.

HB guitars worth it? Been reading about them and reviews are very polarizing - some love, some hate, no middle ground.
They punch above their price but some people are delusional about them.

Is this for beginner too?
Looks like very similar to Fender Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Electric Guitar (Lake Placid Blue)

It looks very similar because it IS. Squier is Fender's entry-level brand, intended more for beginners and those who simply can't swing the $500 plus for the basic Mexican Fender instruments. Nothing wrong with a Squier, or the Squier you linked to, but that is a refurb and the deal is expired. At the current $249 there is no reason in the world to buy that refurb when the same guitar can be purchased new from Sweetwater for that same price minus their current 10% discount, so actually $225 w/FS.

They are a rising star especially recently. Try some of their high-end models and you may probably want to sell your current ones immediately:

BTW I purchased three Gibson LP Standard and one Gibson LP Classic last week, but I'd definitely buy any HB's new high-end LP-style models whenever they are released, for less than 10% of the cost of a Gibson LP, with SS frets. How crazy is that, just think about it.

Absolutely. Neck pocket is the same on all Fender teles whether Mexican, Japan, or USA made.

I've got a fusion. It's alright. Won't get rid of my Fenders or evh for it.

I've also got the white explorer copy with emg's. Also, alright but nowhere near my LtD hetfield snakebytes.

I def think they're a good buy but I haven't seen any that would make me buy over a Gibson or fender.

Wow. Never NEVER seen them this cheap. I don't need a Tele nor do I want one, but if either were the case, I'd jump on it this second.

Great deal for those who need the Fender logo.

Harley Benton just released the ST-Modern Plus guitars with incredible specs (strat/superstrat style). Not sure if they'll be releasing a tele-style series in the near future. Worth waiting if you are not in the market for a tele right now.
I'm so sick of hearing people claim "if you need the logo." The neck on these things are amazing. The shape, along with the satin finish on the back and glossy fingerboard both look and feel fantastic. The pickups are also perfect as-is and the tone knob is wired to the bridge. Also, the hardware (trem, tuners, saddles) are the same as the American models, which means they aren't softer cheap Asian pot metal. The pots are also CTS.

They're certainly worth more then just a "Fender" logo.

The main differences (that matter, in my opinion are the following)

Fender / Squier Classic Vibe
Satin neck / thick glossy neck (personally, I think it feels more like holding plastic than wood, but it's a preference)
Average size neck / very thin neck
CTS pots / cheap pots
American hardware / pot metal hardware
mediocre fretwork / impeccable fretwork (This is where the Classic Vibe excels)
pickups are about equal

Edit: Just realized you're talking about the Squier Affinity. Fenders excel in every way, from the neck & body to the hardware, electronics, and pickups.

Paul Reed Smith (the person) said in a recent interview that the way to tell a good guitar from a poorly made guitar is all down to how long it can sustain a note (without effects). "A good guitar will ring about 45 seconds. A "bad" guitar will ring about 12 seconds." I would be curious to see how well the HB guitars hold up to Mr. Smith's observation.
