If you're into diy I've seen some free ones on local offerup/cracklist requiring a controller & a light scrubbing/ paintjob. $30 on amazon for a controller & 20-30 for heat resistant black paint. Did that recently & it works amazing.

DIY handy and interested. There was one posted today locally. Can you share details of what yours needed?
I have had a 22" for over 10 years and love it. Have replaced the pot, fan, temp probe, and auger motor during that time but still going strong. We use it multiple times a week.
I did pick up the 34" for $499 at Academy the other day just to get the extra space. I'll either give it to a family memory or sell online. I've been very happy with Traeger.

I've had the pro 22 for about 5 years now. It's a reliable entry level pellet smoker. It's not a grill, not going to get the char/grill marks that you expect with a propane grill. The temp can fluctuate.
With that said, it's works well as a smoker and a convection oven. Done multiple briskets, ribs, pork butts on it.
MSRP says $499 but didn't this model used to be at least $700 before they released the updated digital version pro 575 that took it's place in pricing?
Wings for a couple hours to infuse smoke then finish in the air fryer to get the crispy skin is about all I've been doing on my 575 recently. I've found it easier to hit the local bbq place when I want brisket since it's faster and less wasteful. Aside from that it usually sits in the garage since my family prefers burgers and whatnot grilled on the infrared grill. In other words if you're not already a smoked meat lover, you may be better off with second hand or something with a big box store brand.

is this big enough for a brisket and a 1-2 rack of ribs?
This is kind of small. It's smaller than my pit boss Lexington. You could get 2 slabs of smaller st Louis style or baby back ribs in the Lexington but it would be crowded. It's 500 sq inches and this Traeger is only 418. No way you would get 2 slabs and a brisket in there.
