Currently using 2023 Stylus from Metro and everything seems very smooth for me, at $40 I don't think you can you can find a better phone for this price range lol (Samsung phones are even worse). The only down side is I have to wait 6m/1y to unlock (bought before policy changed but idk if I have to wait 6m/1y)
Same here, my daily driver pixel 6 started to have signal issues and I had to start using the 2023 stylus from metro as well as my main. Not as smooth as the Pixel 6 but it covers all my needs. Camera is great, battery life amazing, finger print reader on point.

Not until you activate.
Does anyone know if 1) can I wait a month or longer to activate my phone and service? or does Straight Talk auto activate like Metro after a week from ship out? 2) Can I port-in my existing number or do I have to get a new # from Straight Talk ?

Keep checking back - they went out of stock on 10th & restocked so will restock again since deal doesn't expire till 9/8, there's plenty of time to get one.

Thanks. Apparently they sent the email to my Paypal's email instead of the StraightTalk account email I used to buy lol. Weird

Out of stock. Unsure switching is as seamless as indicated, would have switched to mint which frankly, just going there from consumer cellular took over an entire full day, but guess to avoid problems, easier to buy phones outright.

- Buy phone and activate with 1mo service
- Don't pay for 2nd mo and let the phone sit (or use as wifi device if you want)
- Wait 60-61 days from activation date for the phone to unlock then use it on any carrier you want
But you have to request to Straight talk to unlock the phone right?

Wait for unlock

ST phone will only work with ST service -- you can "rebrand" the phone by asking TF CS but that will probably screw with the unlock if you alrdy activated the phone on ST

If its a new unused phone (IMEI never activated) then you can rebrand it first & activate it on TF/ST/Total carrier you want to start the unlock timer. I bought a new Pixel 6a from Total (just the phone without plan) and had TF CS rebrand & activate on TF plan -- no problem unlocking it after 60 days
How did you unlock after 60 days. Was it automatically or you have to contact TF customer sevice. How did you contacted TF customer service?

Specs wise, doesn't seem too much of an upgrade to my 2022 Moto Stylus 5g except for :
-wireless charging
-esim
-8gb vs 6gb

Does esim neccessarily mean simultaneously dual sim use?
These are desired upgrades for me.

Once I activated the device I should be able to bring it abroad and still be able to unlock it after 60days right.
