Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

Fine, pay for 2-3 months if it gives you peace of mind. I'll stick to one month of service.
Obviously people aren't reading what's been posted over and over and over, they continue to post misinformation.

No need to apologize, but when someone asks a question thats been asked and answered numerous times I usually recommend reading the info provided at beginning of thread. Your question was about the need for 2nd month plan & well covered here.
I definitely understood that you only needed to pay for 1 month of service, but I guess the part that eluded me was the mechanics of how the contract worked. From what I gathered from TenderArm455 response was it's like a pay-as-you-go and if you don't pay for the second month, they just cut your service. No harm, no foul.

The crucial part of their policy is this sentence "For all cellphones activated with new TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically, sixty (60) days after activation". It does NOT specify a minimum length of required service for that scenario. For other scenarios, it does specify a required length of service.

But if paying for 2-3 months gives you peace of mind, go ahead. I'll stick to one month of service.
TY - repped.

FYI - Straight Talk, Tracfone and Total by Verizon are all prepaid month by month services - they've never required a contract and there's no mention of a contract in the deal.

That is music to me ears. I was unaware that is how they all worked. Thanks!

Buying at Walmart vs ST website?
If you buy with auto pay, can you log in and cancel it after receiving the phone?

When does the deal expires?

Any other buying tips?

Did you add the required plan?
Deal still shows this:
"Free 5G phone when you activate a new line of service on a Silver Unlimited plan or higher"

Interesting 2 items from the Verizon acquisition:
143. Sixth, for at least three years after the close of the transaction, Verizon will maintain
existing TracFone rate plans and allow existing and new customers to continue on those plans.
No later than 24 months after closing, any new 700 MHz C Block TracFone device that
Verizon offers and that operates on Verizon's network will be capable of automatically unlocking.
Adopted November 2021.
These phones should/must automatically unlock
The price increase at T-mobile may be a precursor to Tracfone increases come December.
I absolutely expect Verizon to slam the door on the 60 day unlock policy ( if that's allowed) the minute they are allowed and also to try to kill of the cheap TracFone plans in favor of monthly plans $15 to $20 minimum. I would be shocked if they didn't ( I hope I'm wrong on both )

I think the 60-day unlocking period is a separate agreement that Verizon had with the FCC in order to be allowed to purchase certain freqs/bands.

Standard Verizon prepaid unlock is 60 days isn't it?

Devices that you purchase from Verizon and certain devices purchased from our retail partners are locked for 60 days after activation. After 60 days, we will automatically remove the lock. Following the 60 day lock period following device purchase, we do not lock our phones at any time.

If you purchase a 4G Phone-in-a-Box from our retail partners, you should review the back of the box to determine the lock period applicable to that device.

FYI, the two Walmarts that I went to in San Diego, CA had the phone in stock for $149 but do not do in-store activation. Locations were Shawline and Murphy canyon.

Edit- I may do it through Staight talk
