Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

Does #TFUNLOCK# show SIM is Unlocked? Also about phone - Network Lock (Unlocked or Locked)?
Likely both still show locked, like mine. Everytime someone calls they're getting a different excuse. Motorola isn't the problem - we bought the phone from ST and the network lock/unlock is controlled by ST.

It shows Sim is Locked and Network status is locked. I've done the sit and wait, the factory reset 2 times, wifi on - airplane off, etc.
Just like the rest of us whose phones aren't getting unlocked. It's time to file FCC complaint because no one is getting a satisfactory answer/solution, just excuses.

Like Oregon said, I wouldn't waste time with CS. Just email the FCC. Link is in the wiki.

I have two phones which are supposed to be unlocked on August 19.
Today(August 18), the phones are unlocked without an issue.

You should get a phone call response from TF/ST higher level support within a few days, hopefully they will get it fixed within a day or two. (That's the way it worked when I filed a complaint last winter).

I will give Reps to those who can confirm what companies these work with once unlocked and if they can be used overseas.

T-Mobile & all their MVNOs. Visible. Verizon & I believe all their MVNOs. Some say ATT & all their MVNOs but you can be knocked off the network at any time because it fails all the ATT IMEI checkers.

I am having unlock issues and they have now stated that I have to call the manufacturer because it is unlocked on their end ....
I got the same response. Straight Talk told me they couldn't tell if the phone itself was unlocked or locked which I find hard to believe. I called Motorola (even though it's not their problem) and they told me the phone was indeed locked and I needed to get a Subsidy Unlock Code.

What the heck is a subsidy unlock code and who needs to give that out?

Not sure if it even applies to this phone. Supposedly, if you insert a different sim card, the phone will prompt for the code. The code would be provided by the carrier.

I'm not going to try removing the sim card at this point and just submit a FCC complaint.

I know the SD link to the fcc page has an email, is there a standard amount of info you are including in that email?

My phone was activated on 6/14, and I am having the same problem (Phone locked. I contacted CS, who said that their systems show the phone is. unlocked and told me to contact Motorola. Motorola says only ST can unlock the phone)

I contacted the FCC. I just filled out the questionnaire at
consumercomplaintsDOTfccDOTgov

Hopefully they will contact me soon.

Should be ok. I'm on day two with the FP/RP sim. I don't have an active ATT sim to try.
Nice. On a side note, to those interested - TextNow free sim service works good too. I think its Tmobile mvno, not sure. 👍
