Nakamichi was a good brand back in the 1990's when they were all made in Japan. Today Nakamichi is a chinese holding company, so who knows what you will get.

yep, this. In the 80s/90s, few could compete with them on sound quality (and I don't believe the dragon tape player units have any real competition in a contest of World's Greatest).

This (and the car unit) are probably sold under multiple names at big box stores for a comparable price though I haven't bought one to try to confirm that yet.

And price dropped more than 50% equivalent. It may be good or bad. Chinese do great on price war and I admire that.

This seems like one of those products where the price is too good to be true, there was a WOOT speaker awhile back that i bought under the same scenario and it was just horrible. Hope someone has some input on this speaker.....

Solid deal and I can vouch for it and i listen to NAD, Emotiva etc- i bought one just out of curiosity. Great for a small room or RV etc.

Back in 2020 when I was looking for a surround sound system, there was a Nakamichi set that was considered to be one of the best. Came with a sound bar, sub, and 3 or 4 satellite speakers. I forgot the model but at least Nakamichi had that going for them in 2020.
