As per the in-depth review from Notebookcheck, below are the stats: -
Battery Runtime

Idle (without WLAN, min brightness) 8h 48min
WiFi Websurfing (Edge) 5h 52min
WiFi Websurfing max. Brightness (Edge) 5h 00min
Load (maximum brightness) 1h 59min

I would assume that for normal day-to-day mix usage with around 250-nits brightness at 60Hz, you would get around 6 to 7 hours at max. It does not achieve excellent result compared to some other Windows Consumer tablets but pretty good for such a small 51 WHr battery and a 14" 1600P screen.

YO, EVERYONE, CHEAPER DEAL.
This takes about 30 days to ship (just got mine). You can get it from Newegg for $999 in a few days, and it comes with the protection of having purchased from a real US company and not shipping from HK with $30+ in foreign transaction fees. After fees, the Newegg deal is $20 cheaper.

Would this work for my kid to play Fortnite on?
Yes, but you shouldnt. There are far better thin and light laptops (not tablets mind you) with better battery life and performance that are even cheaper than this.

Also 14" is huge for a tablet, and not in the good way, so having this be a tablet does more harm than good.

Ahh, you're missing out on the joy of the mobile version. Those of us reading on desktop don't have reaction buttons, or even visibility of reactions, but mobile does.

Wow, that's wild that the versions would differ by such a significant feature.

there is no other device on the market in this form factor with specs anywhere close to this, so i dont think it can be a rebrand
Yes there is a device better than this one not AMD, not 32 GB of Ram but better GPU and Intel base.

It's called Asus Rog Flow Z13. Last model was with a 13 gen Intel i9 and a RTX 4060.

They have an Acronym version with 32GB and a 4070 but that was limited and so expensive.

Anyone who's working on a laptop longer than 6, 7 hours a day seriously needs to read
"4 hour workweek"
https://fourhourworkweek.com/

...

In any case, the LOAD runtimes are the more important numbers IMO - how long will laptops run when s#!$ hits the fan and you Gotta work hard to get things done ASAP. (Heavy multitasking, load heavy apps, etc.... Not just sitting there trying to get a long essay done last minute because you haven't learned how to get AI to do it in seconds....)

Almost everything - less than 2 hours, even the MacBook Air M1 (despite their marketing claims).

....

Laptopmag.com has their longest running list.
Or just start looking at the LG Grams if you need 10+ hours of dilly dallying.

Eg https://www.notebookcheck.net/LG-...683.0.html

LG SuperSlim - 190 minutes under load - LONGER than the 10cote MacBook Air M3, 20% lighter, DESPITE using a better, blur-free OLED display.

...

As for PC tablets, rip out or turn off all the CPU / battery sucking aspects.

1. Turn off BT/WIFI if not in use.
2. Turn off ALL system sounds.
3. Turn off system wide animations, transparency effects.
4. Turn off system search service
5. Use a local windows account, not Microsoft Account to log in
6. Disable connected modern standby.
(See elevenforums)
7. Disable screen saver animations and background picture.
8. Stick to using edge browser and windows media player - far lower cpu usage vs alternatives like vlc and chrome.
9. Edge - ublock origin extension..then disable a ton of settings in edge for sharing info, storing passwords, form info etc, shopping, suggestions, etc. Home page, disable it all. Go KonMarie. Enable sleeping tabs.
10. Desktop. Disable search bar, copilot, remove all widgets, then disable.
11. Learn to use power mode and battery saver modes.
12. Windows - settings - disable the slew of data, ad, typing, search, etc sharing with Microsoft settings.
13. OneDrive - disable.
14. Anything that wants to sync - disable.
15. Network - ip4 and ip6 checked, everything else like File sharing off.
16. Remote access and help settings - disable.
17. Disable night mode, disable auto screen brightness.

And, if you want even better runtimes and can, replace win11 with tiny11 or windows 10. Win11 is simply a bloated mess burning battery life with curved window corners, etc.

Tweaking win11 hard for efficiency can easily add several hours to tablet runtimes.

Yep. And lower end models on sale earlier this year.

https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/r...23-series/

Z13 with fast 40#0 nvidia totally Murderers all other 12-14" pc tablets in existence..not even close by any benchmark.

Even the regular Surface Pros CANNOT display a standard A4 magazine page without shrinking the size, so tiny fonts for reading is harmful to the eyes.

Case for a Bigger tablet screen to read ebooks and magazines.

We need the Snapdragon X Elite versions ASAP!
1. EVERY SnapX review notes LACK OF 100% app compatibility.
This is 5 YEARS after Microsoft began trying the ARM-based cpu with the Surface Pro X.

2. The joke? If you want Better app compatibility, run a MacBook M1/M2/M3 - even their emulation layer for Intel Mac apps works better.

3. Ditto with printer, scanner, 3d printer, vr/ar/xr, music dac/input/etc accessories drivers.

Eg. This was a comment on audio production for the Snapdragon X cpu laptops just out:
"Sure! My Universal Audio sound card drivers refuse to install and generic built in Windows arm drivers do not work. My Focusrite Scarlet audio interface is detected, but there are some random audio "pops", unless I force Windows in performance mode. Audacity recording app is installing fine and can use the Focusrite interface, but for some reason, Wavelab 12 does not record any audio, even if the interface shows up. Ableton Live and Cubase 12 refuse to install. Many VST plugins refuse to install to (Serum, etc.). I suspect none of the DAWS are working at the moment. DJ mixing apps: Rekordbox 6 runs fine and the generic midi/audio drivers are working fine with my Pioneer controller (XDJ, OMNIS Duo). But Rekordbox 7 refuses to install."

4. So feel free to be guinea pigs for Microsoft, but SnapX laptops and tablets for many will be a crappy experience imo.
None of the SnapX laptops tested benchmark better than a low-mid range laptop - ie. An Asus G14 2024 AMD w/AMD gpu murders all SnapX laptops.

5. Intel Lunar Lake arriving Fall 2024.

I know but was on sale a couple of weeks ago for $1,479.99. still pricey but it's a powerful gaming tablet.

But, you can find 2022 model with a RTX 3050 Ti for $1099 and that's a good one too.
