There is no need to cancel it. In fact recently I remembered it has no foreign transaction fee and used it abroad! Nice perk considering it has no annual fee.
She is a home maker so she just used my income (our income) for the cc application and got instantly approved. Spouses, such as home makers, are allowed to use the main earner in the family's income, the household income, on cc applications.
Free $200 for her to shop with and it will more than likely all go towards baby stuff, which is fine by me. Dang kiddo grows so fast!
It's a good cc to have as well anyways. A few nice perks outside Amazon, nothing major, but also no downsides. The apr is ridiculous, but we never carry a balance so it doesn't matter. Ive been using this card on my Amazon prime account for years and the 5% rewards piles up fast.
I've been noticing all the apr's are increasing to like 29-32%! Even saw a 35% somewhere. Again, don't carry a balance and it doesn't matter, but still crazy to see!
*don't forget, if you ever do 0% promotional financing purchases that give you 6m or whatever to pay it off, do some math, pay it off at least one month earlier than normal to be safe and never miss a payment or you will be charged interest on the whole amount! CC's are a great tool as long as you stay in your budget and take the time to understand the terms, pros/cons, etc.

I did & my score was over 800. Not sure if it's because I used to have one or because my wife currently has one. Regardless, was approved within the hour & received the $200 Amazon GC. Hopefully there are some good prime day deals.
As long as you're ok with the credit inquiry, no need to cancel, just shred after you're approved if you prefer not to use it. Chase will close it for you after 12 months of inactivity

I was just approved for this card and I also have the store card. When I go to payments it shows both cards. Also I received the $200 instantly.
