Its 1709 at Samsung EPP and 1899 w/ 5 year warranty at Costco. Lots of deals for this popping up today

You can get it cheaper via EPP by asking the customer rep for an additional 10% off bringing this down to $1538 before tax. You just have to weigh your options when it comes to Costco's 5 year warranty vs Samsung.

You'd be happy with either one, but I find the Samsung Tizen OS to be the most annoying out of all the big ones, I think Google TV is the best, LG's OS is second, Roku probably 3rd, then Tizen, then FireTV. Of course, thats personal preference. I greatly dislike having to press multiple buttons and navigate like 3 menu layers just to change inputs, but I'm weird like that I guess

How dumb am I to pass on this and wait for an LG deal?

I'm going purely off rtings saying the C3 has "better low-quality content smoothing than the Samsung TV, making it better for watching streaming video content" which is 90% of my use case.
Personally, I don't think it matters for anything above 720p on streaming. Your source device also matters, as some sources (I.e. PCs, Nvidia Shield) do their own upscaling anyway. So LG might only be better with built-in apps (+ Dolby Vision support for content) but the Samsung may be brighter overall.

Interesting. I'm sporting an older gen AppleTV 4K for now.

A lot of reviews of this dying after weeks to a few months. I almost pulled the trigger but shied away after that.

What mount to use for this? Not sure my 65" LCD can hold the extra weight of this 77"

I'm seeing OOS basically everywhere, Best Buy, Costco and even Samsung.

Always possible to get a lemon, but 1 year of Samsung warranty plus 1 year of credit card extended warranty coverage helps me feel more confident about moving out of the bathtub curve of failure. Maybe your credit cards have similar coverage? Or, even better, use the money saved versus a G3 or similar TV to just buy an Allstate or similar warranty.

This what I came across as well. Concerning because I just threw out a samsung led tv because it would turn off randomly or go in an endless power on/off loop. I guess they're still using shitty components

Almost always about LG vs Samsung. How often we can find some Sony good deals? Or is that price difference not worth it even with some small discount on Sony?

If you can afford a $2,000 tv you can probably afford a dedicated streaming box like an Apple TV 4K or Android Shield. Tizen is extremely easy to ignore after the TV is setup and not connected to the internet. You can even do firmware upgrades via USB.

After purchase, if you ask through chat to initiate a return, Samsung will offer an extra 5% refund to keep the TV instead. Got extra $77 off this way.

Edit: Purchased from Samsung EPP for $1,538.99 before the refund and any cb earned.

The 89C is the better deal, but there isn't any available anywhere close by. And I'm in Northwest Indiana….
