For devices with a usb-c port but does not support HDMI via usb-c, such as a Google Pixel 6/7, you can still use it as a charger.
For my case, it did not support Switch out of the box. The firmware needs to be updated. For those who do not own as ASUS ROG like myself, this is how you can update the firmware:
1. Download from https://rog.asus.com/power-protec...924c31
2. Connect this charger dock to a power outlet, and then connect it to your PC via usb-c.
3. Run the firmware update app. It takes only a few seconds.
My Switch OLED works fine on it with an exception - the Nintendo stock Switch Dock outputs Surround sound to the sound system via TV's eARC flawlessly. With this ROG Charger Dock, I could not get the surround sound to work. I've got Stereo only. If anyone can make surround sound output properly with this dock, please share.
IMO this charger dock saves space and is good for travel or for those who play Nintendo Switch with only Stereo sound output from the TV.
I use my asus charger dock for all my devices, work laptop, personal laptop, steam deck and iphone 15. I'm going to purchase and second one.
