This is a great deal, just remember it doesn't have gsync and ram is soldered. It's a decent laptop if those two things don't bother you.

I bought this laptop the previous time it landed on SD, got it $755 Open Box-Fair (Almost brand new, missing the charger which was an easy fix/replacement). That would make it about 45 days in my hands. I use it for mixed-use and my subjective thoughts are:

- I am having no issues living with the 16GB RAM. I already am on most systems I use and thought it would be nice to have 32GB, but I am not missing what I've almost never had.

- I am not playing bleeding edge AAA graphics games so the RTX 4060 is doing a great job running the 1800p 16:10 screen, zero concerns on performance in regards to that and the CPU while we're at it. This laptop chews through whatever I try to do with it.

- Speaking of the screen, it is as amazing to look at as many others have said, but the glossy screen takes a bit of getting used to after using almost exclusively AG-coated screens and man is this thing BRIGHT.

- Speakers are functional and loud "enough," but highly directional and dependent on what surface the laptop is sitting on; accuracy and clarity is not on the agenda. Mix that with the fans going when doing some heaving lifting and you'll want a pair of headphones or Bluetooth.

- About the fans; they do get quite loud though more of a white noise at any setting other than the built-in quiet mode in the Legion Software. That quiet mode is almost shockingly quiet compared to other modes and does get a little toasty under load, "lap-ability" is questionable but I have not tried to place the laptop on my lap. Performance in quiet mode does not take a substantial hit like I thought it would. If you do let the fans do its thing the laptop does a pretty good job managing heat and it's not too hot to the touch.

- The top row LEDs for the keyboard bleeds onto the bottom of the bezel, and depending on the tilt of the display it can be rather pronounced. It is not particularly a big deal in a lit environment, but in a dark environment it may make you consider turning the backlight off if you're watching something.

- The 14.5", 16:10 form factor display and the protruding back makes finding a reasonable carrying bag or laptop sleeve difficult... Snug enough to not be shifting around but not so tight to have to shove in and defeat the purpose of padding is the goal, and many bags I attempted were either much too wide or juuuuuust too short. Not that big of a deal if you plan on using a backpack or a heavily compartmentalized briefcase, but moreso with a minimalist case/bag.

Hope this helps~

Very nice system for the price... its either going for the 4060 8gb on a laptop or the 4080 12gb those are the two performance sweetspots and 8 fast cores is all you need for gaming in the foreseeable future (life of the laptop for sure).

Only issue is the soldered memory though. Would prefer 32 gigs at least.

I'm not from NH so I can't speak with certainty, but that doesn't make sense to me. Open box/new should have no bearing on tax in a state with no sales tax. Is the open box located at a store outside of NH that you'd have to pickup from?
Yeah sorry the only open box remotely near me are in Massachusetts.
Open box is probably still worth it, about $120 cheaper.

You'll never need more than 16GB when playing a game. If you want this laptop for other things besides gaming get a not soldered memory gaming laptop. This Lenovo has been great, easy to pack and travel, battery lasts 6+ hours when not gaming. Also can purchase extended warranty for cheap fom Lenovo. Recent titles at 60fps, buttery smooth at medium-high settings plus the beautiful picture of the OLED. This panel has free-sync which helps.

Gotcha that makes sense. I'm a big fan of Best Buy open box so I'd recommend it for that savings.

Looking for a laptop exactly like this minus the dedicated graphics card to save a few bucks but still be capable of low tier gaming with the 780m, any suggestions?
How about this...I have one and love it.

The HP Pavilion Plus is $769 now with 2.8K 120Hz OLED and AMD 7840U/780M GPU here:
https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/ConfigureView?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&catEntryId=30744... [hp.com]

You have to configure the HP for OLED and the total with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD is $769.

Be patient (if you can) and try to score the 32gb version on the refurb store or ebay. It come and goes in and out of stock.

I ordered the last "excellent" condition one at the Chelsea NYC location. Hopefully it's in brand new-ish condition and can be registered for the full warranty with Lenovo.

Unless I'm mistaken, the 14.5" version is not available with 32GB RAM, only the 16" version is.

Absolutely nuts. Make sure you downgrade your BIOS to 24 if you have 26 or you'll get some random artifacting.

You are mistaken. I ordered the 32gb version direct from Lenovo.

Absolutely love mine. If I could have gotten the open box excellent for $816, I would and just live with the 16gb of ram as 32gb was really just a nice to have thing.

16gb in 2024 is ridiculous and shouldnt be allowed tbh; it's so damn cheap for companies to put in 32 but they cut cost even for pennies

Anyone who has one of these know how lappable they are/ hows the battery life while gaming? Not ideal I know , but as someone that WFH I've been looking for something where I can just take out of my office and relax somewhere else for an hour or so without worrying about cables (not really interested in handhelds)
