Every Gretsch I've bought (3 so far) the pictures were far less impressive than the instruments in person. There's an extremely good chance you'll be blown away by how good it looks in person.

Think it's as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures?

IMHO, the guitar looks nicer than how it appears in pictures. I saw one at GC when I bought a G2217 (Jr. Jet Club with two humbuckers) a while back.

I have the mint metallic version and it is much prettier than the pictures show. Beautiful sparkle finish that doesn't show in the pics. Fun guitar and worth the $400 price. Bargain at this price. Neck P90 is a dream. Bridge pickup is weak and is the only problem with the guitar. Easy fix to swap it out for a better quality TV Jones and/or a better wiring harness.

I got this a few months ago as a travel guitar and it's become a favorite. It looks fantastic in person (even better than the pictures), and I love the P90 in the neck.

It was surprisingly well set up and only needed a few minor adjustments. For something like 1/3 of the price of my "main" guitar, the few small imperfections are well worth it. Even if my ADHD currently has my guitars as wall art for now.

Bought my son the electromatic streamliner for Christmas and it's an awesome guitar. Adorama is legit.

Just chiming in to add that my 2622 is also nicer looking in person than I expected after seeing pictures and videos. Lol. Well done Gretsch!

These are overstock. I picked one up, and it had a 2021 inspection tag. Setup was decent, fretboard was a little dry, and maybe a small imperfection here or there. Great value at this price. Good packaging, and quick delivery.

Heads up. We bought this and received it today. One of the strings was broken. They suggested we have it restrung which costs between $30-45 but they would only give us $15 to have it restrung. Not a good business.

You pay someone to restring your guitars?
A set of strings is $5. You got a $400 guitar for $185. Not trying to sound rude but you're valuing a restring at near 1/4 the price of the guitar. Seems unrealistic.

You really need to learn how to change a string yourself. Just pull up a YouTube video and learn. You should be putting a new set on every few months or so anyway.

Got this guitar at this price when they had this deal back several months ago and I concur that it looks better in person than it does in the pictures. It plays nicely too but I have noticed the broadtrons feel a bit 'lacking' (they just don't sound as full as what I've heard from other Gretsch guitars). I tried the 6-screw mod and honestly not sure how much it really helped if at all. Doing that mod, subjectively and supposedly, the tone clears up... maybe I need to change the strings or play with the pickup height more. I think the 6-screw mod actually lowers the output some. In either case, I may consider swapping out with a filtertron in the future. Another thing that I've heard these can benefit from is changing out the tuners to locking tuners. Mine definitely goes out of tune faster but then again: I should probably change the strings anyway. I think the nut might be plastic as well, so if that's the case then I'd probably look to change that to bone, tusq or graphtec or whatever. The P90 on this guitar sounds really nice otherwise and it's a great value at the pricepoint. I may add a Bigsby in the future too Smilie

I'd say, out of the box, this is a great beginner's guitar and really good for bedroom practice/playing. If you intend to use it live though, I think it needs some work (most or all of those things I mentioned above.. especially the tuners and maybe nut IMO). Once you put some work into it, I think it would play really nicely in a live setting.
