We're on our second one.
Bought the first one in 2016. Probably around 2019-2020 the convection fan stopped working.
Bought a new one in September 2022, and the fan has stopped working on it as well, probably 5 months ago.
They don't offer a replacement motor. It would be a simple fix if they did. Can't source the motor anywhere else, I've tried.
We're deciding now if we want to keep using it with no convection or try another brand.
2x M3 Nylock nuts
2x M3x18 Machine screws
2x M5 Fender Washers
1x 3/8x11/64x1/8 Nylon Washer Part# 59550-B
Aside from opening the shell of the oven by removing the T10 and P2 screws, unscrew the switch bracket from inside the lower left of the oven - 2 black screws in-between the heating elements - and replace the brass rivets with the M3 screws and nuts. Unscrew the nylon guide roller from the door track and inspect it for wear. It will be unevenly worn down from its original ~10mm diameter. Drill the replacement nylon washer shaft up one size (I think it was to 3/16") to fit the screw you removed, and sandwich it between the two fender washers when screwing back on so the washers sit outside the door track and mimics the original shoulder washer. Buy more nylon washers for when it wears through again.
Also, love mine and often use it as a primary oven. One of my favorite features is setting it for a specific time so it turns off automatically after x minutes. My oven does have a way to do this but it is more complicated so I just don't use the feature.

Also, the beeper is INSANELY loud on this this. If the power flickers, it reboots and gives the loudest, harshest BEEEEEEP from our kitchen. For $300, this thing is insanely overpriced.
We used it probably a few hours per week when it was working and like it a lot. Enough to get another. This other one actually powered on with a slightly noisy fan, about three times the noise of normal and sounds like it's hitting something, and it probably was, but it got much better with use, and almost at normal level now after a few months. I would've returned it if I hadn't waited until after the return period to start using it. An Internet search will get a lot of hits on issues with Breville ovens, but people like it enough to take a chance, plus nowadays it seems pretty hard to find appliances that are extremely reliable.

That said, I think even if I knew it would only last 2 years I would buy one of these over and over. It gets used multiple times per day for just about everything. Maybe some of the more affordable brands have improved to where they're worth considering, but for a long time this was the only toaster oven even worth considering.

The Smart Oven BOV800XL at $216 matches the all time low at Amazon. Also gets top ratings. It's smaller and just has mild convection instead of strong convection "air fry". No light inside the oven. Max temp 450 instead of 480. My old one didn't have an annoying fan running to cool the electronics when you use it even without convection, but that design might have changed by now.

I've had both. I'd suggest the 900 if you sometimes want to use air fry or max heat, or the 800 if you want smaller and cheaper. There's also Panasonic infrared to consider for a small unit.
2) in theory i want a toaster oven/air fryer combo, but these including Breville never really air fry as good
3) toaster ovens get so dirty and require so much cleaning
Personally, decided to get a dedicated toaster by Breville instead. In the future may get a legit air fryer like the instant pot versazone 9qt. I spent way too much time coming to this conclusion. If it was solely up to my I would get something like this, but my wife hates how dirty our old air fryer/toaster oven got and neither of us will clean it frequently enough.
I feel like comparable other brands would be the way to go. Like I said, even on sale like this, the price is unjustifiable.

Got the BOV900BSS as a convection oven for scientific purposes. It gets used about 4 hours every day and has been 100% problem free. Reasonably accurate and easy to use. Quality feels great and the accessories are nice. It actually goes lower than most other convection ovens, which is what I needed it for.

Note that the "0" time mark on the graph signifies when it says preheating is complete. Setting was bake, super convection. 80c is low for almost all baking, but I'm not running another test for slick deals.
