I was wondering how long before we started to see sales on these copilot+ devices. Though no Windows based laptops ever stay anywhere near their MSRP for long so this isn't a surprise is it? Even Apple laptops get discounted pretty quickly (though not to this %).
Yes, price drops are common in a few months, but not in few days after the release.
This probably means they don't seem to be archiving the sales target that they expected.
This is not a good start to these series of laptops.
Good sales leads to more R&D and better quality of next revision models.

I wouldnt mind the surface laptop 7 getting a similiar discount.

I need a work laptop to last all day.

What problems? Other than this, it is not a gaming laptop, but it works perfectly for Microsoft Office, OneDrive (no, not Google Drive), and any web-based applications. Most x86 software will run in emulation mode, but a few will not. I'm unsure if this is a crash-and-burn product by a long shot.

The original pre-release price from Samsung included a $300 TV in the offer, so the price cut sort of now covers that incentive that was there from day 1.

You sound like a real expert, until you felt the need to specify a statistic (99.999%). "nearly every application" is fine...no need to add what is clearly an inaccurate number (or did you actually count every single application available for Windows and then count every ARM app for Windows in order to get a statistic like that?).

Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine people using statistics pulled from thin air.
I agree with your point. Also, I would love to hear from an actual user of one of these devices.
I played with all of them for 2 hours at Best Buy, and they were quick to launch multiple MS applications and browser tabs (Edge). Reboot times were all about 50 seconds, but MacBook Air took about 3-40 seconds to reboot the device.

If you like the Apple OS, I will stick with it since it's still more efficient than these Windows ARM devices, but if you are a Windows user, this is our next hope of an efficient device with more than 3-4 hours of battery life.

Seems to be an issue with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite - unsure if there was a "fix" yet.

I just bought the Book 4 Pro 360 and returned it - the track pad was abnormally large and the screen size caused overall poor support with the hinges (multiple YouTube videos noted this and I confirmed it in Beat Buy). I ordered a Galaxy Book 4 360 instead, which shouldn't won't have the flimsy hinge support OR the Adobe/Google Drive/etc issue.

If you have a trade in, I'd recommend purchasing through Samsung vs Best Buy. I was able to apply both the education discount (warning: they use ID.me to verify this now) and I got $327 for my iPad Mini 2 (LOL, yes the 2013 iPad Mini 2).

I'll report back once mine arrives if Intel chip has these issues too....I'm going to be very upset if it does
Thank you so much. Had an iPad Mini 2 laying around and healthcare discount. Wonderful deal

Unless you read Apple fansites, no one is complaining about these laptops and actually have praises for what they were promised to do - Thin and Light, Excellent Battery Life, Typical day-to-day work that MBA does - and it has succeeded in it.

If you are hardcore gamers, a Creative who encodes 100s of hrs of 4K videos, this is Not for you and these laptops didn't promise it either

Laptop became available in June and 8 days into July it's already dropped from $1,349.99 to $1000? Wouldn't be surprised to see the similar price drops on all these copilot arm devices besides the surfaces.
i mean this isn't anything new to M$ windows machines... that's why windows machines are generally much better value than others... BC they drop in price so fast.... mrsp is just so ppl feel better about the purchase when they go on "sale" or "drop in price"
i might pick one up when it's on an actual sale for like $700~
that said.. i've heard all these copilot releases have trash driver/firmware support.. ppl having to exchange them bc drivers aren't being pushed out correctly.

so are we comparing with chromebook? just to run web-based applications?
one of the reason lots of people stay with windows is the compatiblity.

65 inch tv worth $500+ was provided as pre-launch offer which can easily be sold for $350 or more.
