but still hesitant since i see this monitor dropping hundreds of dollars in the coming months
I grabbed it a few months ago at full price after they sorted out the delivery issues, and I mainly use it for coding. I'm very happy with it and have no regrets paying full price as the other equivalent cutting-edge panels (PG32UCDM, 321URX) are never in stock even after 6 months! Honestly, I can't see any fringing—text is super clear, crisp, and legible. I do run it at 125% upscale because 100% on 4K is just tiny. Windows enables TrueType by default for this monitor.
The curve is pretty subtle and doesn't mess with text readability, given the monitor's size. At this point, it's more about preference, and maybe folks with OCD might notice if they focus on it. There are supposed to be eye benefits to curved screens, but that's mainly for ultrawides, so I'd take that with a grain of salt here.

It's a good monitor overall, even for what are usually weak points for OLED. And of course it's phenomenal for things OLED is known to be great at like color, games, and media.
The real worry with OLED is burn-in, and it depends on a bunch of factors. For me, I run it on darker brightness settings since my environment isn't very bright, and I use dark mode (always preferred it). OLED's true pixel shutoff makes it look much better than other panels, and it feels less visually fatiguing. So, burn-in is less of an issue for me. Plus, some folks have used Samsung panels (this one uses a Samsung panel) for half a decade without any burn-in issues for daily work and gaming.
The 3-year warranty is more than enough for burn-in, at least for me. By then, I'll probably upgrade since OLED will be even more mainstream, or I'll have a second monitor for a dual setup by that time.
As for nitpicking...
It would be nice if there was an auto-brightness mechanism like the latest Dell IPS-Black 120Hz ultrawides. That might be a business-only feature and could show up when they make business monitors with OLED panels, if that ever happens.
The back logo wouldn't stay turned off with settings after putting the monitor to sleep. I had to use the software to keep it off for now, but I don't like bloat running in the background, so I disabled startup for it after applying this. Not sure if it'll stick.
Also, if you're looking to use the Dolby stuff or HDR, check Reddit for experiences on that. There have been limitations and fixes since launch. They're not applicable to coding, which is always SDR, so I didn't pay much attention.
Anyway, my verdict is:
- it's a big upgrade if you're coming from another panel type and for anyone getting this new it's great at this price point, I'm envious! Enjoy your new monitor
- except for text clarity, it's a minor upgrade if you're coming from OLED. I'd wait for later generations unless your monitor has issues or you can't bear the text clarity issues and are considering switching to other panel types for that, but still love OLED.
EDIT: Just a quick correction on text clarity, it's subpixel layout, not sRGB layout, as pointed out by many in this thread.
To someone who knows tech and wants to save money the 34" Alienware can be bought for hundreds cheaper with the same picture quality and usable refresh rate. All one has to do is look on ebay or buy a refurbished unit
