I have received used AirPods from Amazon in the past even though I purchased them new. I don't think they were fake though. Never again will I purchase Airpods from Amazon.

I ain't no apple shill,i don't own airpods 2. But i was extensively searching for new true wireless earphone/headphone and one thing that i can tell you from my research is that Airpods pro 2 has always ranked at the very top(or very near it) of mic quality.

That and the apple ecosystem integration are two main reasons people get these. Sound quality might not be audiophile level(and tbh,none of the wireless set are) But these have "fun" tuning and great for most people.

I just read thru the article and I appreciate the info. However, it pertains to other sellers and market place activity. Here, we are talking about Amazon's own inventory and sales from that. Further, the article is from 2022 and things would have changed by now.

Of course, fakes do exist and they are hard to distinguish from real ones in many instances. Not minimizing the dangers of bad actors congregating market places (Amazon, Ebay and even WalMart and Target) as they have so many vendors on their websites. Buyer beware.

Yes, but think about it -- you are wearing ANC earbuds because you don't want to hear outside noises. So what sense would it make if the audio interrupted when it detected a voice that wasn't your own? Say you are on the subway or street corner or even in the office and conversations were all around you. Your AirPods would constantly be muting.

In your case, if you are inside your home there is no need for ANC on. Just put on transparency mode and you'll hear anyone trying to talk to you.

In for one. Used the Discover $10 off using rewards. Already have two sets of first generation Pros but both the noise cancelation just generates static.

Never tried to get them replaced at the Apple Store. Need to at least try.

Exactly. IF Amazon did unintentionally send you a pair of fakes it has a return policy. Just return them. But I received my AirPods this AM and they were real -- recognized by my devices and Apple (notably with the warranty expiration date showing in my iPhone and the notice of how long I'm eligible to buy Apple Care.)

Never buy airpods from non-Apple retailers unless you want to get screwed twice. Once when you received a fake or used unit — return scammers have become very sophisticated. Again, when the AirPods start malfunctioning after 'software updates' or the battery dies in 18 months.

AirPods ownership is very short and unreliable for what you pay for, even when on sale.
