Amazon should be ashamed of themselves. This is like regular price, nothing special about it. They used to do better deals around Prime Day. What a bust.

Here are some use case scenarios for a streaming device.

The Hisense h9g used faulty memory that caused the main board to fail if too many writes occured. The best way to prevent this was to disable the internet, not use on board apps and use a streaming device.

For the Samsung s90b, the company apparently sent out firmware updates that lowered the brightness of the TV. So to prevent an update for those who did not receive it, you would keep the TV off the internet, unable to use onboard apps, so you need a third party device.

I have an s90c that I do not want nerfed, so I use a fire stick on it and others on avs forums do the same with other streaming devices. I also have 2 h9gs that I keep off the internet.

I use a streaming device on my ust projector, the on board apps are laggy compared to a streaming device.

Another use case is that Samsung store does not have a larger app library compared to Google or the TV is not able to run certain apps.

I use an onn streaming box on one of my TV's that has Google TV on it. I can run emulators up to Dreamcast with the onn box, my TV is not able to do that.

Wal Mart's $20 ONN Google TV is much faster than my Firestick 4K (first edition). The only down side to it is the remote's voice search is terrible. Somehow, the Amazon remote can hear even the slightest whisper. On the ONN device, I have to practically yell at it and it still thinks it hears some interesting things.

If you don't want to be tied down to Amazon's layout, the ONN is the way to go. If you watch a lot on Amazon Prime, Firestick is good--but I'd probably spring for the 4k max to get the faster CPU. You'd think as the years go on, Amazon would put a little faster CPUs in their products.

According to the camels, the last time the 4K stick dropped to $25 was mid-November. The majority of the time since then it's been on sale for $30.
Yeah, that's when I got 20% off trading my old stick in for a Max.

Think they got enough versions of the stick?
Yes which is why I stopped buying Amazon lol after the 4K max. Every single new version still has random issues and has never gotten me to the OTB nirvana I've been looking for. I recently tried out Roku and wow had no idea what I had been missing. Everything from the UI to password management (e.g. setup one Roku and all your apps/passwords automatically work for additional Roku devices) is awesome and just works.

Did they ever come up with a way for the Cube to play music while allowing you to watch TV or use another input to play video games? I'd like to play it thru my sound bar without it taking over the video input of my TV

Cube is a great idea but that has always been a bottleneck for these devices. The Fire stick Max + Echo Dot combo has always been superior because of this.

thanks. anything cheaper that works similarly? u seem to know ur way round amazon lol
Would suggest searching at Amazon for the part number of the remote you need to replace. Remotes for newer Fire TV sticks may not work with older sticks. Also, remotes for Insignia/ Toshiba/ TCL Fire TVs usually don't work with Fire TV sticks. Searching for a 3rd Gen Fire TV stick remote (L5B83G) with 4* or more and at least 10 ratings, there is one currently at $7.98.

Replacement L5B83G Voice Remote [amazon.com]

As mentioned by another member, some third party remotes for Fire TV sticks don't work well. Remotes purchased at Amazon with good product and seller ratings are more likely to work. Amazon return policies also help if the remote doesn't work.

Gracias. I just ordered a 4K non-Max, I noticed Amazon says the Max has a 2.0GHz quad core, the 4K has a 1.7GHz quad core, and the 1080p model (which I'm currently using) doesn't say anything so probably a dual core.
Same, the 4k max awesome, just with they would add an ethernet port, but guess if they did, no one will get the cube. Yes you can get an adopter but at an extra cost

You can order a generic one from Ali or Temu for around $5. That's what I did for my Show 15 and Firestick. I did it because their default shortcuts on the OEM remotes were useless to me. The generic ones have worked well for the most part

Can someone help me? I'm seeing if I can plug in a Fire TV stick lite into a monitor and use it as a Ring Tv notification set up.

Basically, my ring cameras will be on display the entire time.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Any advice is really welcome.

I have the max and hate it at least I don't like it with plex. I have a few firesticks and cubes throughout my house and this is the first time I've had stuttering issues. The max makes plex think it is an outside connection, can't seem to figure out how to fix it. If I disable remote viewing on plex (watching shows outside of the network) it seems to work fine, but for whatever strange reason other than that constant stuttering of and network drops. I believe I have issues with other apps as well, but have long given up on it and use it for my exercise area where I'm streaming hulu usually. Maybe I got a dud, but even factory resetting, that did not work. I hate the max, which is sad, because I really wanted the extra memory. I also hate the cubes (so far each generation has the same issue, I have two generations of cubes and I hate them both), they work, but I find myself having to restart them at least daily to get them to work correctly.
I've had no bad experience with Firestick and Plex.

Try changing the network on PC/Server to public from private.

I just thought of another use case scenario for the fire stick. It is pretty specific though.

If you use Amazon music and have Atmos setup, you can utilize spatial audio.

I do not know if the Google version is Amazon music has been updated, but last time I checked, it would not play the Atmos version of songs.

So my ust projector is not able to play Atmos music through the Amazon music app. That's why I have a fire stick.

Can we stack 20% upgrade offer on discounted price? If yes, 20% taken off the regular price or the discounted price?

Thanks in advance
