I wouldn't say that in general more case fans are better either. Depending on how you configure your case fans, you could have fans creating air columns that intersect each other thus creating turbulence. A good example of this would be if you were to make the top and front fans of your case intake. The performance of such a setup won't be bad, but it's unlikely to be any better than if you simply installed 3 top fans or 3 front fans, of course depending on which case you are using and how ventilated the front / top is. There are also many cases where the fan intake is up against glass which in turn completely defeats the purpose of putting any fan there. In essence you are recirculating the inside the case, not intaking cooler air or expelling hot air. You also have to consider the acoustics of adding more fans and that past a certain point fans come with diminishing returns. Having a ton of fans only really makes sense if you are going watercooling with a large external rad or multiple internal rads. That will net you a vastly larger temp drop than simply filling up all your fan mounting points.
Asrock Challenger Arc A750 also for $180.
