I did it, I ordered the 16gb ram 512 SSD version. First laptop in 12 years. Also approved for Amazon card so I received the $200 off.

My Local BestBuy has the absolute worst customer service aka worst people working there. For that reason I haven't shopped there in over a decade.

The 8GB debate is ridiculous. The solution is to not buy it if you think it's not enough. Lol

Reality is 8GB with Apple Silicon isn't the same as 8GB on a PC and on the Mac it honestly rarely causes an issue, except maybe with video editing with multiple programs. I can attest that It runs fine for graphic design and massive spreadsheet (10k rows & 200 columns) concurrently.

I returned the M2 I got from best buy and got this deal from Amazon with added $50 coupon. I wanted to keep the M2 but after reading the 256gb and 8gb ram model possibly slower than m1 because of how the 256gb is installed in the model made me do this switch.
