Not available in my zip code.

This is the same outfit that let me order a new one for $100 months ago (along with the $35 plan), and then sat on the order for weeks before saying they were sold out.

I see deals like this pop up occasionally and just want to make sure I am understanding things correctly. To take advantage of this deal, you would sign up for a new line with Straight Talk and get the phone for $74. You would have to have it active for one month, which would be $35. You would cancel before the month is over, so total out of pocket would be around $110-$120.

You would then have an unactivated phone that could be used on wifi (like a mini iPad). After 60 days, the phone would become unlocked so it could be used on another carrier? Am I missing any details here? For us, the use case would be to have an unactivated phone for our child to use (for things like FaceTime and YouTube) when connected to wifi.

activated the phone on Feb 19th, 2025, it's not unlocked yet, tried network settings reset and factory reset, please helpchecked this https://sickw.com/ website, it says lockedWhen I call customer support, the IVR keeps repeating to buy a card, press ,1 and to enter pin, press 2 no other option to contact someone
The April 1 policy change now requires 60 days of paid service to unlock (instead of previous 30 days). They have been enforcing it for phones that are unlocking after April 1st even if activated in Feb & March, it's unfair & should be illegal but that could be the problem.
Also recommend calling unlock dept number, they're the only ones that can figure out what the issue is & get it fixed.

I suggest filing FCC/BBB complaints, there are reports on Reddit of users being granted unlocks. More traction this gets, more chances of success for all of us in the predicament.

Hi. Does anyone have a screenshot of the Unlocking policy page from prior to April 1 2025?

The Unlock Dept phone line was very busy, and when I got through, they insisted that the phone wasn't eligible for unlock or any override because it has not yet crossed 60 days of paid service. Then they hung up.

FTC complaint seems the way to go.
