I got a free one with the dead amp. My repaired amp will be here tomorrow. The amps die because of cheap components and they are not "designed" to be left on/sleep mode constantly.
To be clear, it's not good for these to be in standby mode when not in use? If I'm correct, I'll flip the switch off when not in use.

Thanks.

Also remember size. This is a monster. May be 2 12 or 10 inch subs more manageble if more output is needed
They are not that big. Lol

What are the chances Adorama will price match if one just bought from the last deal?

Great sub but the amps fail
Let's be real, what is the failure rate? %1? 2%?

Is it general use why the amps fail or due to turning base high? If I use it for a theater room that will never be excessively loud, would it last longer?...I'm tempted on this + seeing it $50 cheaper from 17 days ago has me thinking hard about it. Any thoughts- please chime in.
Doesn't matter if you play it loud or not, these amps will fail eventually

My buddy is a small regional distributor and it's around %15 for him which is ridiculous. Go check AVS these are just as bad as those monolith subs ( 1st Gen)

Yes. I use switched-power surge protectors for these subs after having both amps fail after the first couple months of ownership. Been okay the last couple years that way, but I always worry that I'll have future problems.

At this price point though, I'm pretty much on board with anyone who wants monster low output for the cost, even with potential for failure. Klipsch is good about sending replacement amps.

Thanks for the info. Repped. And yeah, at this price point, I'm tempered to get two for the man cave, but in a previous deal thread, someone said I'd be downgrading from the monolith 12" THX v2.

While subjective, I think they are full of it about the 12" thx. I had that sub and sent it back due to little to no output.

I'd say great. They just did it for me 2 days ago with a $50 credit back.

I have a Monolith V12 V2 and it rocks. The thing you have to realize is that the gain stage is designed differently from most subs. You have to turn it up past 12 o'clock. I run mine around 2 o'clock. And I have a Y-splitter to feed both inputs. There's still plenty of headroom at 2 o'clock. But some people are like omg it's not as loud with the volume knob at the same place as my previous sub! It's borked! No, it's how it's designed and its a well-known aspect of this sub if you read AV forums.

Wow! This is slick. I bought two last month (one just over 30 days and one three weeks ago) at $449. They are quite large but I prefer the sound over my previous Klipsch 12" subs. Deeper, fuller punch. Adorma just gave me an account credit of $100.
