This is my second week trying to learn about this - and I get most of my education for most things from SD….
It got delivered a few minutes ago. I was surprised to see the box. It showed the newer style with the metal kickstand. I couldn't believe it. i opened it up and sure enough it's the new style. Nothing on the box says Nextgen but it does say "25% high conversion rate".

EcoFlow does have a next gen bi-facial 220w panel on their website, but it's more expensive (though on sale right now) and not available on Amazon as far as I can see. Only the old style 220w bi-facial is on Amazon.

Are they just different enough not to warrant any comparisons of performance?

All together, that adds up to about a 300% confidence rating on my part, but people can roll the dice if they want.

$259 for the next-gen 220w panel is fair even if it's not the bi-facial version of the next-gen models.
While you could, if you wanted, connect the 220w and 400w together in series or parallel and then into one input on your battery, you would be taking a hit since it would be limited by the voltage or current (depending on how you set it up) of the lowest spec'd panel. This is why, if doing a series/parallel config, you should try and match up the panels in terms of watts/voltage/amps as much as possible.

Would these EcoFlow panels be an upgrade to the ones I have now? Also, is there a recommended charge controller and/or power station for weekend overlanding that would work with my existing panels or these panels?
