Honestly, if you really care about your hearing, you double up regardless.
They're 31 NRR and filter a much broader range of frequencies than most anything else out there.
And also these are fine for many things, just not shooting.
Hearing loss is caused by loud noises over time, so if your lawn mower is 95dB, these being it down to 68dB which is office noise and perfectly fine.
Gun shots can be 140dB or even into 190dB. Human ears can sustain instant damage past 120. Again, it's exposure and time. A single gunshot with these on a 140dB gunshot is fine. 15 minutes is not.
Even NRR30 isn't sufficient for things like an AR-15.

I've always used the big passive cans and doubled up with foam (or some other material) in-ear plugs. It's cheap insurance to help protect your hearing.
I always laugh when some movie has people firing 50 rounds in quick succession in a parking garage or some other concrete enclosed space and nobody ever has eye or ear protection. Nobody flinches and everyone has perfect hearing 5secs later. Don't forget obligatory gun sounds every time a gun enters the scene and everyone always must have fingers on triggers to look cool.
