I don't understand all this mesh velop jargon, can I use this for spectrum internet?

Confirmed was able to setup AP manually, set WiFi SSID/Password and disabled DHCP and connected Ethernet cable into the LAN port not the WAN port remaining LAN ports also doubles as a switch, works great as AP much more bandwidth over my old netgear R6700 AC router just waiting until openWRT to fully support this especially after hearing this has 2GB RAM and 1GB NAND absolutely amazing value at this price, will say the OEM firmware on this seems very limited and sucks even when compared to my old netgear R6700 AC router.

Dumb question but could I use this as my main router and then connect one or both of the 2 pack mesh units via Ethernet? Obviously they won't mesh but should still work as a normal AP system? Then basically I would have a 3 AP system? Thanks

Hmm can you connect more Ethernets directly to this after setting up as an AP? Like one Ethernet to a computer and another to another access point?

Based on the boot logs, here are the differences I noticed:

MX5300: Qualcomm IPQ8072A, 512MB flash, 1GB RAM
LN1301: Qualcomm IPQ8174, 1GB flash, 2GB RAM

MX5300 has better radios but does anyone know if its chipset is also more capable for WAN to LAN throughout or VPN?

MX5300's 5G_2 is wifi5(qca9984), not wifi6.
But yeah, considering the higher CPU frequency, mx5300 will have better performance on VPN stuffs (for normal WAN-LAN traffic, there won't be too much diff)

I received mine from the original Woot via Amazon deal. Yes, I was easily able to set it up for my Spectrum internet service here in Texas, using most of the same settings as my previous inexpensive 3rd party routers. I was also able to do initial setup manually without logging into their online app, which I prefer. From a few other threads & sites, I understand that some of these apps may automatically connect periodically back with their manufacturers in China (and without your notice or approval) - which concerns me.
As others have mentioned, it clearly states on the bottom that its model # is MX 4300, although I haven't needed to confirm whether the WPS button or USB port actually function. I too look forward to possibilities of future OpenWRT support.

I can find bridge mode: (attached) but what I need is REPEATER mode. I need it to take the SSID from my main router and then re-broadcast it from it self. Essentially making it a wifi extender.

Most routers can do this, can this one not?
