They are all the same. There are only 3 to 4 big factories in China producing these. All brands are just buying from the factories.

Their panels are not the good ones as quality monitor brand but ok. The plaatic structure is the main problem. None of them will survive if you jump a lot.

I bring mine in a backpack everyday on campus. My portable monitor is a no name brand from Amazon, but they are all the same, as the other post said. I use a very specific orientation in my backpack to keep the monitor protected. Laptop in it's sleeve then the screen in front, then a rigid notebook or folder followed by whatever else you want to toss in. I have a metal laptop stand, portable battery, cables, chargers, I carry everything. I'm using a Herschel backpack so nothing fancy, but I do have more expensive $90 backpacks that just aren't as fashionable.

$115 at B&H Photo. No tax if you have their store credit card. So in theory, it'll only be about 5-10% more to buy from a retailer where you KNOW you won't be getting a counterfeit.

Also, it's $100 at Walmart too. And they don't commingle their inventory!

I think this is a better deal for the money. With the coupon it's 94 usd.
No battery on that one. That alone makes for a significantly different use case in my book. Fine for infrequent/short travel or home use, but will drain the snot out of your laptop battery unless you're plugging in one or the other. Good find if the use is less mobile and you need the gaming features, though.

I'm not seeing any mention of a battery on this one either.

I have this one before I left at hotel room during one of my travel. I have AOC portable monitor now. Both worked fine and I travel with them a ton for the last 5 years and still in good shape. I put it in my laptop backpack in the same slot as my laptop.

Will it last in a backpack? I travel a fair bit and I see some not-name-brand monitors at the same price and the reviews all pretty much say that they can't handle a backpack
I lug around a 13" MacBook Pro, an IPad, a 15" Lenovo ThinkPad, and an MS Surface in my backpack/laptop bag on top of a cheapy Aliexpress USB-C portable monitor. They all survive just fine if you're not playing Ace Ventura with them.

Nope, the one OP posted is a 6 bit color panel. You can see for yourself on Asus' own website [asus.com]: Display Colors : 262K.

If it was an 8 bit color panel it would say: Display Colors: 16.7M (for Million).
10 bit would be: 1.07 B (for Billion).

I've been carrying it in a large backpack (40 Liter travel-type) with 2-3 other electronics and tons of stuff (approx 25 lbs) - no issues so far. I paid around $56 from amazon warehouse and it came like-new. no reason to pay full price. The screen quality isn't as good as my laptop but its not bad either. Better than the generic $60 ones

It is. Check display properties on a low end laptop. 6 bit is a real thing

I'd go with this one instead. 2.5k, 16", and plenty bright. Comes with a foldable screen protector like an ipad's that doubles as a stand. I bought one for travel and love it so much that I ended up using it at my desk as a dedicated slack screen since I'm 100% remote.

Also, if your laptop is plugged in, no need for an external power source. It works just fine with a single USB-C going to the laptop.

Product reviews mention touchscreen capability, but the product description does not. I'll assume it doesn't unless anyone can confirm otherwise.
