I have this. The ratchet is coarse and clunky feeling to me. My big disappointment is the ratchet direction device can easily be inadvertently switched during use and you have to fiddle with it as it sometimes "locks up " and won't allow ratcheting until you fiddle with direction device a bit. Maybe mine's a defective, but just heads up.

Nice find. Might pick up a couple just for the spare double ended ball-detent bits that should fit many of my other multi-bit screwdrivers.

Same question, does it work like a 5$ ratcheting screw driver? There a better one?

I mean besides the LTT one being $75? LTT stuff is awesome and high quality, but it is expensive. I have the backpack and absolutely love it. It was also $280 lol

Price, number of parts, and warranty. All higher in the HF version.

Edit: one reviewer on the HF version mentioned there's no storage for the bits. That's annoying if true.

But people in general seem to be happier overall with the hf one. Yes, expectations there are lower, but based on the reviews the HF one might be a better performer with less quirks. it's a very fair comparison especially if one's waiting fit a sale in the HF one. Did my use I wouldn't want a built in storage.

It's a whole different animal. The Estwing takes considerable force to ratchet, the LTT takes close to zero. The estwing has way fewer ratchet stops. The LTT is made of higher quality plastics. The bit storage on the LTT is snappy and internal. The LTT comes with a super high quality magnet tip that makes starting screws way easier. The LTT is at least partially assembled in kannuckistan by people making a living wage.

My estwing lives in my glovebox. My LTT lives in my office where I use it daily.

$5 is about what a non-ratcheting version of one of these is worth, so I wouldn't expect much from this. Say what you will about Snap-On but I've had a ratcheting screwdriver for over 15 years from them that still works like new to this day. Buy once, cry once.

For $5 I figure I can't go wrong, even if the ratcheting part doesn't work properly, a nice selection of bits and Ilke that the spares are stored in handle and the barrel flips for easy swapping of common bits. Estwing is a good brand, can't be that bad. Did I say it is only $5?
