From my assessment, my 27" 4K Acer works well at 100% resolution and I do not have the desk space for a 32" in my face. The font is small, but is totally legible. I have tried 150% scaling on the font (I think 150% or 200% is the default?) and immediately changed it to 100% scaling. The amount of content displayed at once is absolutely vital to me. I have many spreadsheets and use DOORS (which is like a giant cell sheet of test cases and linked docs) for work which absolutely make life easier without having to scroll or tab constantly. I'm a programmer with a 15" 2k res laptop and use a 24" 1080p monitor in portrait mode, and the 27" 4K monitor on the side.
For productivity, the specs on this monitor sound very nice, especially with KVM.
Just my two cents for why I disagree with needing 4k on a 32" display. I'm getting old, but my eye sight is still OK that I don't need to scale to 150%.
What do I need to look for in future monitors that don't have Thunderbolt but just display and video with usb c ?

Can other people comment if it is better or not? 279p1 does have rj45. When using it with 2 computers, does that mean only the active one uses the rj45? And the other will be disconnected from the network?
Also ccc says the 279p1 hit 219 in June..
edit: this monitor supports daisy chaining and the other one doesn't. right?
For office work, 4k should be at least 32".

EDIT: I found the manual and it show that a VESA bracket comes with the monitor. Fingers crossed it does, as I'd really like to use my arm mount.

Need to be aware of the benefits of high resolution though..no important thing in life is "free".. you give up something when you get something. Called tradeoffs..
