I just made this purchase. I love these 17" LG Gram laptops. I am using one that I purchased at Costco about 4 to 5 years ago. I purchased two of them when they were posted here refurbished from Woot. My wife uses one, and my boss uses the other. The one I just bought will be a nice upgrade to my original purchase.

These are not gaming computers. These are good for general computing, office computing and travel. Yes, travel - the thing is big but lighter than any 13" laptop I have seen so it is excellent for travel. It is so nice to have a 17" 2K screen in a form factor this light. If you use a computer on your lap while on a sofa for any length of time, the fact that this is only 3 lbs makes it easy to move, pick up, and reposition.

It is fast, reliable, has good battery life, and has a backlit keyboard; I use USB-C charging with an Amazon-purchased magnetic breakaway attachment.

It does get plenty warm on the underside. Mine does not have vents on the bottom, which I like because I can sit it on a pillow without blocking airflow, but I have seen some of the newer models, and they have vents on the bottom, so I will have to adjust.

They are extremely light for a 17" laptop, i got one from Costco six months ago (frontpage). especially considering the magnesium shell enclosure. It is WAY lighter than my 16" Lenovo Yoga i bought yesterday from BestBuy (i think it was also frontpage) also with an aluminum shell enclosure.

60hz. Keyboard is average. TouchPad one of the worst mainly because of the stupid location. Overall good laptop with a mouse.
Wait what do you mean by the location of TouchPad making it one of the worst?

I got tired of tech support on crappy laptops my parents kept buying. I got this for them on a similar deal last time around…

SO happy with the purchase. Going up on screen size while drastically cutting the weight feels amazing. The performance was awesome for the price.

The quality felt great for its purpose. I don't know why people complain it's not indestructible, etc. It's not meant to be.

Do you know if the Costco LG Gram 16" 2 in 1 has the same lame touch pad location? I remember trying this or similar 17" Gram in store a while back and the touch pad ruined the experience. Hoping the 16 2 in 1 doesn't have same issue.

All of the smaller LG Gram models (16' and under) currently offered at Costco have the touchpad in the traditional position centered on the keyboard.

Do not buy lg labtop, the battery will fail charging after 6 months
Not true. I bought my LG Gram 17 in April 2021 and battery life (as well as the whole laptop) are functioning as good as new. Battery life is excellent BTW, lasts many hours (programming, browsing Internet etc.).

How long battery lasts on full charge with normal browsing or coding ?
I have an older version and it lasts about 10-14 hours.

I think why they said "funny" was because people buy Gram for lightweight portability. 17" is large and take a larger bag to carry it in, and it's 3lbs, which may be light for a 17" but isn't light for people who travel a lot and want something very lightweight. Add the power adapter and you're probably close to 4lbs.
I have this. The power adapter is like a phone charger. It's very small.

Could you please check if it's actually aluminum, and not magnesium alloy?
It's not aluminum. It's a magnesium alloy, that's what makes it weigh 3 lbs instead of 5.

Personally, I have no interested in the processor. And the internal graphics are too slow, and won't allow for desktop replacement. It also uses twice the wattage of its AMD competitors.
