A quality speaker setup at a good price for people that have decent jobs?
I have a hard time believing this is going to be 2x as good as the Samsung 990 deal for $680
Sonos is having massive issues with their app and ecosystem since they did a major app overhaul a few months ago. Many people are fleeing Sonos.

I have a Sonos Arc, sub, Move, One, and 4 Sonos speakers from IKEA… not sure I'd invest in Sonos right now.

However, the connectivity is always a headache. I connect it to an LG OLED, and there's no sound every now and then. Requires that I reboot the soundbar. Sometimes, even that doesn't work and requires the soundbar to reset. Sometimes, I even had to connect soundbar to router by network cable to update the firmware and reset only, after which the connection goes through.

All the above steps are official troubleshooting, which indicates Bose agrees there are issues and hasn't fixed them in so many years. I'm terrified to recommend their Soundbars to anyone now as they failed to fix these in the latest models and are still selling them with potential connectivity issues.
Wow, after shelling out so much, I would be terribly disappointed if it can't even RELIABLY connect to the TV every SINGLE time That's unacceptable, imho.

I was skeptical about soundbars initially until I stumbled upon a Samsung 930B (9.1.4) soundbar open box in Best Buy for $460 (after tax) and hooked it up to a Samsung S95B QD-OLED and was blown away. My living room has high ceilings and the atmos effects fill the whole room. I could never increase the volume beyond 40 (out of 100 level) as it rocks the whole house and my wife never lets me go above 20! lol

FWIW, I have been using Samsung S930B for almost two years now and NEVER had a single disconnect issue.

Having said that, I would highly recommend Samsung 990C for $680 + tax if you can get the EDU deal over this highly priced BOSE system, which has connectivity issues as well!

Friends don't let friends buy sound bars. Trash on sale is still trash.
Friends don't let friends WASTE money on OVER PRICED speaker setup. Instead, the knowledgeable friends recommend you to save money and go for a Samsung 990C for $680! lol

If you could scroll back to my post history from 6 years ago, no one shilled harder for Bose than me.

Having said that, you can get so much more bang for the buck than this, by building it out yourself.

Klipsch Reference Series 5.2 Home Theater Pack with 2X R-625FA Floorstanding Speakers, R-52C Center Channel Speaker, 2X R-41M Bookshelf Speakers (Speaker System) https://a.co/d/hOLR0uv

Klipsch R-120SW Subwoofer, Black https://a.co/d/cq2BFJA

These two items together will blow you away, and you'll still have enough cash left over for a great denon receiver, capable of atmos, vrr and 4k120hz gaming.

Denon AVR-S760H 7.2-Channel Home Theater AV Receiver 8K Video Ultra HD 4K/120 - (New 2021) (Renewed) https://a.co/d/eld4hxJ

Buying this Bose setup, even at the sale price, is absurd.
Sorry to hijack a Bose thread but would you recommend this Kilpsch setup https://www.costco.com/klipsch-re...51095.html
sub - https://www.costco.com/.product.4000207198.html
receiver - https://www.costco.com/.product.4000207144.html

Thanks!

No worries! The speakers, definitely.

The sub, I actually had that same one in the cart and after reading reviews, I decided against it. You're paying a bit of a premium for the wireless feature, and reviews are mixed on how well that even works. So I would recommend just getting a little better, non wireless sub.

The receiver looks good, but I don't like how it's capped at 4k60hz when most TVs now are capable of 4k120hz. That may never be a feature you use, but it would be disappointing to have to upgrade your receiver down the line, should you find yourself wanting to enjoy 120hz

Are the surround speakers and sub wireless and if so how do you charge the surround speakers?
They have individual adapters that hookup to a wall. They are wireless in the sense that there aren't interconnected wires between individual speakers/sub.

+1

I actually bought and returned the Bose system due to the same exact issue. Was quite disappointing and quite a hassle to pack everything and return.

I have the Q990C as well. It may be the unpopular opinion, but I will say that the Bose system (when it worked) felt wayyy better on sound clarity and balance. In comparison, the Q990C has clarity but does go haywire on sound balance every once in a while. It's a personal opinion so your choice may vary. Having owned both for a brief period, this is my view.

For what it's worth, I purchased this bundle at 1500 about a month ago. I have been very happy with it. No connectivity issues for me (eARC connected to newer Samsung TV).

The AI voice feature seems to work well, I never have to struggle to hear voices like an LG soundbar I have in another room.

Surround on the 700s is a little weak, but they are sleek speakers that take up almost no room (which my wife was happy about).

It replaced an older Bose Lifestyle soundbar, so it's hard to compare to others.
You can prop up the surround speakers a couple of ways. Setting it up to +30 in the bose app did it for me.

Another trick, which I never got around to trying personally, is to place a cloth (napkin) over the surrounds and run adaptiq. Apparently has the same outcome.

It's ok but Sonos arc is much better in terms of overall sound. I bought the Bose 700 during Costco sale earlier this year.....And then Bestbuy had a open box sale (20% off on top) and I picked up a sonos arc and sonos mini woofer (both were display items).

I ended up keeping the sonos and returning the Bose 700 back to Costco.

What I like about the sonos is the bass is more natural sounding VS the Bose which is just boomy. I also found the sonos arc diagolues are more clear than Bose 700.

Both are excellent entry level systems but imo, Sonos arc is one step higher especially with the phone app that modulates the speakers based on your room and placement of speakers.
