Not without returning the tool alongside it. They're only returnable separately if they show up as prorated line items in your cart.

Edit - this is the deal you're looking for: Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

Is this overkill as a light user of impact wrenches. I like to be able to use it to mabye rotate my tires on my cars or swap out a flat without using the manual tools.

This will not have the torque you need to remove lugnuts. You will more than likely need the 1/2 drive impact.

No, it isn't. And the one that they do break, they choose because it's so good for testing other things, and they break it by repeatedly pushing it to the limits.

This is an impact driver, intended mostly for driving screws in construction applications. What you want for automotive work is an impact wrench that typically be higher torque and take sockets without the need for an adapter.

Is this an updated surge or still the old one?

As Jeff said this isn't what you're looking for if ur after an impact wrench

For light duty impact DRIVER use though it's the best there is imo especially if you're doing most of your work indoors. The reduction of volume/decibel level is a big deal in itself and very welcome, but the reduction in sound harshness is arguably as big if not bigger. (Sound harshness/intensity, SPL (sound pressure levels) are all related but have their own nuances.

It's so much more pleasant and less of a bother on the ears, and it's less of a irritant to anyone in the home or office you're in if you're in those sort of situations.
