Honest question

What is 3M's credibility and reputation after the massive class action lawsuit against them for making faulty hearing protection for military personnel?

I'm a vet with ringing in my ears. Not certain from where the ringing originated but may be related to 3M. Something about giving hearing pro from the same manufacturer that has been linked to millions of vets having hearing problems to my kids doesn't seem right
