Just run the debloat wizard and it'll give you recommendations on what to disable.
I called and they got me the deal but I think i no longer get free Amazon Prime as a long time Metro account holder. They messed with my account to make me eligible and in hindsight I'd rather get Amazon Prime for free than an unneeded tablet for $20.

I had the suspicion that a credit card under a totally different person might work since ID verification would be different. Unfortunately I don't have one. I tried one with my wife as the primary card holder. It failed again after submission.
It appears Metro might have enhanced its fraud prevention algorithm since the last deal. I remember more than one person was able to order a dozen or more last time.
EDIT: my eldest has his own debit card. Didn't work either! Probably because it still uses our home address.
Is there a risk of getting banned on doing it?
Here's a reddit comment with a screenshot of one setting that worked. Sometimes you have to toggle the tablet off and on multiple times. And sometimes after updates it'll revert. I have had trouble getting it to stick to my BYOD phone but that might be a quirk or maybe because I have no hotspot allowance. it has worked for a few days previously.

Just opened a new Metro account and was able to order two. Most people here have been able to order two. The third order is the one that fails, but I haven't tried yet.
Edit: As expected, tried a third time and got the "contact us" message. Looks like they are limiting these to two per account now, which make sense.
Edit2: Tried different shipping address, different name (wife), different credit card also in her name, but no luck. So limit of two is confirmed. Not sure how long the cool off period is, but I guess two is better than none.
The phone won't unlock for a whole year. I guess I could sell it as a locked phone, but I think I will just keep it as a wifi device as it is a pretty decent phone. Not a fan of the curved display though. I think the Moto Stylus 2024 is a better phone. Got a few of those from the Total Wireless deal.
This deal definitely isn't as hot with a limit of two tablets, but I guess I should be happy with a decent Wifi only phone for 1 year, and two junk(ish) tablets for $118 (including the $3 Google Voice number). Definitely not like it was in the past when you could keep ordering more tablets.
I think the $80 total ($35 + tax + trade in cost) for the 8GB/128GB A9+ was a better deal overall. I got two of those for $160 total, which is better than getting two of the 4GB and the locked Edge 2024 for $118. At least those two tablets are more usable vs the 4GB ones.

I know it may be useful to some people, but I have zero use for a 4G/5G capability on a tablet as I would never pay the monthly price for a plan for tablets. Even if you are lucky and can get a $10 T-mobile plan, that is $120 a year. I can't think of a situation that would justify spending that much on a data plan per year.

Last time this deal was on, I joined the party too late towards the end of May. Did what you did and ordered the $30 BYOD and was able to order one tablet. They raised the price to $50 immediately after my first tablet shipped, so I never ordered another one. So the one tablet and one month of plan ended up costing me $50. Sold that tablet for $120 after using it for a couple of weeks, so at least it was not a net loss, and I did use the $30 unlimited plan during a vacation just for the data (saved me around $6 in data costs on my main line). So my net cost there was $44 for the tablet and a net profit of $76. Too much hassle for the profit, but at least I didn't get stuck with the 4GB A9+.
At least you were able to get two tablets out of your $30 plan. Whether you keep the A9+s or sell them, you will still be fine. But this deal is definitely not worth doing just for the profit. I am thinking of gifting the two tablets I got, and I will get more return in the form of goodwill in that way that the small profit that I will make selling these.
