The limitation is the 1TB. Come on apple give us at least 2TB in this day and age.

Arguably better than the Costco deal that ended yesterday (M3 Pro 16' 36/512 $2399, or M3 Max 36/1T $2999).
But if you can hold until black friday, aggressive macbook deals are on the way.

If you buy this one, it might last for 10 years. A $1500, 5-year-lasting windows/linux laptop can't have this configuration.
Edit: actually, buying 2 https://slickdeals.net/f/17674017-dell-precision-5480-on-clearance-as-low-as-1154-i9-13900h-64gb-512gb-rtx-2000-ada is better.

Apple sells disk space and memory the way DeBeers sells diamonds

It's the cost of entry that is usually a challenge. MacBooks typically have high resell value making the cost to upgrade a little easier.

How soon can I cancel my Best Buy Plus membership after ordering, without having the extra $500 discount clawed back?
I think you need to keep it active to keep your 2 year Apple+ warranty.

I never said it was "unbelievable" that some people *MIGHT* be using this for actual professional video editing. I just think for "Professional AV Editors, Developers, Etc" it's like 2% max. Why are you so livid on my comment? Answer the question, get it done. I disagree, they sell so little of these machines. This kind of power? Outside of Video editing, they are mostly useless.. who's using this to browse the net? Yoooooo shake head

What the hell, we can buy a $500 Macbook on many outlets to get the "Mac" experience.. what's the point of this? Can someone give me a real response? I ask again, are you professional video editors for movie studios, or some chump change youtube channel? Roll out, let's hear?

What do you use lightroom and photoshop for? For your own family photos.. or? I'm genuinely curious. I asked others about this. Do you need a $3k box for that? Definitely not. If you can tell me otherwise, i'll believe. Cheers
Software Developer here. Running LLM models (AI stuff) like Llama 3.1 locally requires quite a bit of power TODAY. These models are only getting bigger year after year. A machine like this will improve efficiency and productivity, and validate/PoC our solution before we deploy on a serious NVIDIA GPU on AWS. A regular laptop won't cut it.

M4 Max must be around the corner. No way Apple would let an authorized reseller drop their flagship by 4 figures otherwise. Time to clear inventory.
This is 100% what's happening. But my logic was that the M4 will only be 10% faster, but this is 25% off, so a better bang for the buck. 25% off is unheard of for a less than 1 year old New/Unused Mac.

Interesting, where do you see a $150 instant reward offer for opening a new BB credit card? I just see the 15% back as gift certificate offer, which is still pretty good. Looks like they will also give $750 for the last generation of Intel Macbook Pros (I9), which is better than ebay for the most part.
Although the teaser graphic merely mentioned the 15%, once you select to use your Best Buy Visa, it prompts you to choose between a couple 0% APR limited term monthly payment plans OR a one-time $125 certificate. I chose the latter. Time will tell (hopefully in the next couple of weeks) if they'll give me the $125, the 15%, both, or neither! 😂

Same here for the rewards. 15% back for the first day of Best Buy credit card usage is insane stacked on the deal price, but reasonable for good credit card sign-up bonuses/incentives, so I'll gladly take it.

And, now I'm watching closely to see if they actually honor what they promised.

I combed through all the terms and conditions / fine print, and see no reason or excuse they have not to give that 15% -- and I am ready to raise a ruckus. Promising something to get somebody to sign up for a credit card, then reneging, is no joking mater.
Good news! I got 22.8K in rewards points (7.5pts/$1 spent) which just converted into $455 or so in certificates. Color me very impressed! Combined with a $25 certificate i got for some other reason and I just bought the MacBook Air M3 16/512 for $825 or so. Looking at another $55-100 in certificates from this order as well. Haven't heard on that initial $150 certificate but I think that comes through at the four week mark, versus the points that post at two weeks. Good luck with yours as well!

That's AMAZING! I have yet to pickup my order, and hope I didn't mess it up by waiting too long, but $455 additional is so flaming hot.

The biggest issue for me would be that I wouldn't even know what to spend so much on, lol. Maybe a new tablet.

In case anybody was disappointed to miss this deal, it's back, and possibly even hotter because
  • Ordering a few weeks later than the original deal, gives you more time in the 60 day return window to have buyers remorse in case Macbook Pro M4's come out within the next two months.
  • Not mentioned in the deal is bonus Best Buy Rewards: another $25 for all (just go through the 'Member Offers' and enroll in the '$25 bonus reward with $249.99 or more spent on a laptop', and over $400+ if you open a Best Buy credit card (see previous comments about this).

My 15% is available for redemption now too! It's $515 for me, because the $399 from Apple Care is included in that.

I'm also just waiting on the additional $25 to come through (if yours is like mine, it comes from "$25 bonus reward with $249.99 or more spent on a laptop"?) and also I opted to get a tablet early (the 9th Gen iPad for $200) to take advantage of $25 rewards on $250 tech purchase over the past weekend, and stacking that with the $25 rewards on spending $50 of Insignia purchases. This is $75 additional rewards, not counting 5% rewards charging this to the same Best Buy credit card.

What a pleasant problem to have to figure out how to spend a free $600 additional on top of getting a good deal on a Mac + iPad.
