This seller on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/151940255906

I have bought from them twice, and even though it says 450 cartridges, both times they sent closer to 600.

With tax, it comes out to around 17.5 cents per cartridge (assuming they do send 600)
Thanks for explaining it
wow 5,687 sold
so assuming there is no promotion, close to 6K people got it to spread to 45-60 months (10p/m limit) and recycle for such a small return?
Any way to do it in one shot? Smilie

Most people that are doing it are staples plus (the paid membership) which allows you to do 20 per month. Also, even though Staples rules are officially that you can only have 1 membership acount, I am poretty sure that a lot of people just create a 2nd account in another family members names so they are doing this twice each month. At that rate, 600 cartridges will last a little more than a year.

Thanks,
also since you know everything about staples, do you know if something like sderclub or e-junkie is still available for getting staples coupons. I remember long time ago one could generate a coupon for RadioShack Smilie and Staples in these places. Gonna have to buy a computer I saw on clearance, need a coupon Smilie The recycle coupon is only $10 and doesn't work on tech it seems

Generally, all Staples coupons will exclude laptops except the specific ones that are for computers and those will only generate in the app. They had one around 2 weeks ago for 15% off laptops above $399 but the coupon was only good for 2 days (it was a Tuesday and Wednesday) and I haven't seen one in the app for a laptop since.

How do you sign up for Plus? I can't find any current info on it
I was already a member , my Plus membership was to expire in June. I just thought it was done, since there was a new plan with the points in place.

I received an email from Staples telling me they were going to charge my card in 30 days to renew. I found almost no info about it. I could cancel and get a refund if it wasnt doing me any good, so I gave it a shot.

It turned out I have the same 20 carts @ $2 a month, plus the battery money, and now it pays out in a couple minutes, and the rewards DO NOT expire if you keep being a customer. In theory you could save a bunch up and by a new computer, all with points

Also no ink purchase is required now to make the recycle work

So for standard members, we can do 10 carts at 50 cents each and only after that we get $2 for each extra up to 10?
No, with the special August coupon that is automatically added (check your acct), your 1st 10 carts will be $2.50 each (500 pts). I don't usually recycle ink cartridges at Staples and just brought in 3 as a regular customer (normally 50c) and got 1500 points total, 500 pts each, $7.50 total. I don't have more empty ink cartridges, unfortunately. I used to do Office Depot ink recycling because they didn't require buying $60 of ink, just $10 of anything in the same month as you recycle ink -- and OD paid $2/cartridge. Now all the OD/OM near me have closed, so glad Staples is (occasionally) going to pay $2.50/cartridge.

Thank you for the info. I haven't done recycling at Staples for a long time but have about a dozen empty carts left so will try 10 there then one more to see what they'll give after that. Nice thing is with battery recycling, their register still prints out the 10 off 30 coupon.

Does anyone know if their coupons work on computer mice?

My normal rate is 100 per cartridge so getting 500 per cartridge instead is really attractive.
Same here. I gave up on Staples after they diluted the ink rewards...haven't been there in months, but this will make a visit worthwhile.

When you say you got 500 points for 10 cartridges, do you mean 500 points for each cartridge or 500 points for all 1o cartridges? And I assume when you wrote 100 additional cartridges in August you meant 10 additional?
Sorry I wrote it quickly. 500 pts for each cartridge. 10 Cartridge so 5,000 pts total. Since I got two of these offers I hope they would double (for the two identical offers) and it would be 1,000 per cart. If my first transaction filled the requirements for one of the two offer I got, it could be possible that the other offer is still active, and I could get another 500 pts per cart times 10 carts in August.

Yes, I meant 10 additional!

I did pay the yearly Plus membership, I get $2 each for 20 carts each month, paid out in about 2 minutes flat.

Each time I recycle battery or electrons item, I get $2.50, and get a coupon for 10 off $30 with an expire date at the end of 2024. I get the coupon each time, even if it is the second or third time that month turning in items.

No ink purchase is required, and as a bonus I return the ink I previously purchased, since their return policy says ink is fine until its expire date.
well, if youve got to buy the inks from them, its not a deal. since you said you purchased the ink previously and paid for the plus, thats a lost right there. especially, when you paid at least 10 inks from them to keep recycling.

The previous Plus plan was buy $50+ in ink every 6 months and get to recycle 20 carts for $40 a month, with a $50 paid membership, per year.

I would return the $50+ of ink after the 6 months was up, so that cost was zero.

The new plan does not require ink purchase. Just a $50 membership for Plus, and it allows 20 recycle carts per month to get $40.

but that $50+ cant get you 120 inks (for 6 months). people always ask where we can get inks to recycle. buying on ebay isnt a cheap option anymore.

I've bought from Planet Green on eBay about a half dozen times through the years, most recently ~450 for $100, so they're only about 22 cents/ea. Yes they're not as cheap as they used to be, but they're well worth it to me.

PS: keep in mind that Office Depot also has an ink recycle program (10 carts/mo @ $2 ea with a minimum $10 store spend/mo required which is easily achieved with periodically free after rebate items like Duracell batteries).

So, I'm PLUS. Recycled 30 carts.

Got 20x400 (regular reward for Plus)

Got 1x500 (tech recycle, one of the 20 inks counted for this)

Got 10x500 (the new 10 cart offer in the account)

Total = 13500 points. = $67.50
