I have bought from them twice, and even though it says 450 cartridges, both times they sent closer to 600.
With tax, it comes out to around 17.5 cents per cartridge (assuming they do send 600)

I received an email from Staples telling me they were going to charge my card in 30 days to renew. I found almost no info about it. I could cancel and get a refund if it wasnt doing me any good, so I gave it a shot.
It turned out I have the same 20 carts @ $2 a month, plus the battery money, and now it pays out in a couple minutes, and the rewards DO NOT expire if you keep being a customer. In theory you could save a bunch up and by a new computer, all with points

Each time I recycle battery or electrons item, I get $2.50, and get a coupon for 10 off $30 with an expire date at the end of 2024. I get the coupon each time, even if it is the second or third time that month turning in items.
No ink purchase is required, and as a bonus I return the ink I previously purchased, since their return policy says ink is fine until its expire date.
I would return the $50+ of ink after the 6 months was up, so that cost was zero.

PS: keep in mind that Office Depot also has an ink recycle program (10 carts/mo @ $2 ea with a minimum $10 store spend/mo required which is easily achieved with periodically free after rebate items like Duracell batteries).
