Actually the Wal-mart one, although it is an 8xxx CPU, is fewer cores than this one. (6 core on the Victus vs 8 cores on this one).

I grabbed one of these, great deal! Is the down vote bc of low stock? Or am I missing something?

8gb RAM on a gaming pc feels low (vs 16) and can not find if it is soldered in or upgradeable.

besides that not bad cpu/gpu for the price point

Thanks. I'm not that knowledgeable. You say not bad price, can you point me to others that would be similar or better at this price? I have two weeks to return this one.

I think this is a good deal. Little hesitant because of the open box but I'm going for it. There was only one available for pickup around me and I ordered it (probably pickup this weekend). I'll add a 8gb module to up to 16gb ram total. Looks like the Samsung 8gb ddr5 pc5-5600b is the module in the laptop. A second one is between $25-$35. Adding a second m.2 kind of sucks but $60 for 1tb isn't terrible (prices are high right now).

Have one going off to college in a couple weeks. I like the LOQ series because it's not flashy and stupid looking but also has legit hardware. He can take it to class for school work and it'll still be able to handle some gaming back at his dorm.

I've had great experience with Lenovo hardware in the past. Recommend one for my nephew when he went to college back in 2014. He still uses it as his daily computer, never any trouble. My niece didn't take my recommendation and bought a MacBook when she went off to college. That thing was dead after two years and they had to buy another one.
