I have one, it's on the low end of the quality scale, missing features from the previous version. Victim of cost cutting.

Was never in a milion years worth $120 MSRP.

I believe I paid $45. That was acceptable for what you get.

This is a Outdoor GearLab best buy but it is only rated as a 5/10 for warmth whereas the warmest ones are rated 9/10. So it is on the jacket side of warmth, not coat.

What features is it missing from the previous version?

The biggest performance change was that they switched from a horizontal and vertical grid stitching to just horizontal. The grid system keeps the insulation from moving around, which results in overall more warmth. Now I will say most of the major performance players (Mountain Hardware, RAB, Patagonia, etc.) either already did or have switched to just doing horizontal (ex. previous Nanopuff was box too). But where the negative change here is that the REI is a budget jacket. It uses a different amount of fill. Those major players are filling the baffles so full they can't shift, but the REI one is minimally filled and does shift around a lot. And you really need it to stay put to maintain warmth.

They also changed the fit. It's now a little less body-hugging for the same size, which is a no-no if you intend for just a regular shirt or something under it, but fine if you're going to layer multiple shirts under it.

Ultimately, for a casual daytripper or just wearing around cool but not cold weather, it's still a great jacket and this is a good price. But it's not even close to the performance level that the more technical (and much more expensive) ones like Nanopuff or Ghostwhisperer are.

Me, I have the vest version of this. I love and wear it all of the time between 35-65 degree weather. But when it's in that 35-50 weather, I'm wearing it under another activewear jacket of some kind. It's nowhere near warm enough on its own, even if it had sleeves.

Inventory is getting low on the men's jackets; the Blue color has the most sizes available.

Reads like it doesn't have PFAs "Nonfluorinated durable water repellent (DWR) coating..."

Seen plenty of e-bike delivery people w/ puffer vests. Must be a thing in any weather. Good body shock absorber possibly.

It'll do, to complete the look gunna need a Patagucci quarter-zip fleece pullover plus them Cole Haan sneakfords on sale, see thread details.
