The sweet spot here is the Cinema 50 especially if you have external amps already(or plan to).
It offers almost everything the 40 & 30 do at a much lower cost.

Performance wise with external amps the difference is minor even with the 30 imo.

It easily competes with Denon's 4800, at the very least more than the 3800 imo.
Hey Rob - been meaning to ask this for some time on AVRs and Airplay 2, do you know any which shows zone 2/B as an airplay sink (in addition to main) in iPhones and the like?

Can the stereo 70 be used as a network player similar to a WiiM amp? As in it auto sleeps and wakes upon airplay or Spotify playback?

If the AVR supports both likely it will.
Best thing to do is look at the user manual of a AVR you are interested and see if the configuration is possible.

Marantz is offered as a premium over Denon.
Since the 4800 has come down to $1300, very unlikely the 50 gets lower than this especially new.

Yea, I'm eyeing up either a 3800, 4800 or C50. Maybe end up with one of the Denons given the value proposition Smilie

During my research I was able to audition those 3 with in my setup.

Here is my take on those.
In short if you don't have a brand preference the 3800 is really hard to beat for the price.

If you're gonna rely on internal power then the 4800 is probably the better choice.

If you prefer Marantz's warmer sound the 50 is great at this price.

I went with the 3800 but if this was for a new one definitely would have considered it.

Marantz stopped production of tube equipment in the 60s

The Cinema 30, Cinema 40, Denon x4800, and Denon x6800 are all built in Japan.

Integra drx3.4 vs the cinema 60? Anyone with experience? I know the marantz doesn't have Dirac just not sure if it's worth the extra price

It's such a shame that the measured performance of the Cinema 70s is poor. It would have been a great upgrade if one had an older AVR/Video preamp which already was using separate/external amplification.

I have had tons of issues with my vintage receivers and thinking of grabbing the Stereo 70s for features/hopeful reliability. Anyone foresee any issues using this receiver with vintage 70's JBL speakers? 75W per channel seems decent.

Pretty much all these measured poorly.

Pretty much any professional reviewer will note that Dirac is the best RC software available at this price point.

Not sure that's a fair comparison since the Integra has 2 more channels.

You would have to jump up to the 50 to get Dirac option which you then pay for it on top of that.
Keep in mind that jump also gives you many more features over this.

You also get a very capable RC included and the next step up over the 60(XT vs XT32).

Having setup the 50 within my own set up and comparing Audyssey vs Dirac.
They were very comparable and would give the slight edge to Dirac, the main reason being Dirac Live Bass Control.
The Integra does not get that option, the 50 does.

The 50 has a new directional sub bass integration. It works under the same premise as DLBC and works well!

If you run more than one sub(or plan to) the Integra has parallel/mono sub outs, the 50 has 4 independent ones!

Here is a comparison of the two.
