Best MBP 14" with M3 Pro chip deal I've seen. If you need an Apple laptop now, jump on this deal asap. If not, wait for the M4/M4 Pro MBP coming at the end of this year.
There's always a better chip around the corner but I think the M4 is worth the wait. Should be available in 2 months if rumors are accurate. The M3 is on a dead end expensive node and it's evident Apple wants to get off it quickly with the iPad, and Mac desktops(except iMac) skipping it. I wouldn't be surprise if MacOS support would also be shorter than usual for the M3 in the future due to lack of devices with this chip.
M4 has double the neural core performance vs M3, the first M series chip utilizing Arm v9, and LPDDR5X ram. Apple might've also fix the hardware vulnerability leaking encryption keys on previous M series chips, too. If you're already spending more than a grand on a laptop and waited this long might as well sit for 2 more months. It's not like the price is going to be higher for M3 Pros after the M4 Pros come out.
Sucks that the sale didn't extend to the 1TB . I hate that Apple solders in their SSD's. But I've been dealing with 512GB SSD for 5 years and it's really really annoying even with external drives.

You're loopy if you think the m4 pros won't start at $1999, or even higher. This is $500 cheaper, which is unheard of in the Apple world. It's also available today, whereas all we have are rumors about the m4 launch this year. Could be in 2 months, could be delayed until holidays, we won't know until it happens. A lot of us don't want to wait just to pay full price for an m4 with 5% better performance.
I seriously doubt the support cycle will be any more or less than the m3 vs the m1 and m2.
To be frank, seems like you're just making stuff up based on assumptions.
Take what this person said with a grain of salt. A lot of assumptions in their post. If you need a laptop now, this is just about the best deal you'll find on this model.

This specific M3 config was $200 off by Thanksgiving last year which was less than a month after it launched.
It's up to you whether the benefits are worth it but to me spending $300 more when I'm already spending $1500 isn't a lot more. The M4 enhancements I listed are not rumors and definitely more than 5% performance gain. This can be verified by looking at the M4 in the iPad Pro and that's just the base M4 chip.
If you need it now then it's different. I wouldn't recommend against getting it since it's a good deal.

Seeing pfp do you think Apple takes gaming serious with the next generation? Seems they were close with the m3
I am going on a trip to US on September and I am planning to upgrade from my macbook air m2 8 gb of Ram and 256 gb of ssd to a new macbook. Should I choose a macbook pro m3 pro or a MBA M3 16gb/512gb ssd? And also is worthy to get the open box version for $100 less?
Thoughts on this at $1500 vs the base 16" M3 Pro that's also for $500 (so total is $1999)? Is the extra $500 more for the 16" worth it?
I bought multiple 14" MacBook Pro m series laptops but that stopped once I bought a 16" mbp. It's worth the extra cost if you can benefit from the extra features. The screens are stunning on these.

Also, if you have the Best Buy credit card, check your offers section for $100 back if you spend $1000. Essentially making this $1399 which is nuts.
Anyone think it'll go lower after m4 announcement or release? This is $600 off already, which is unprecedented for apple products not on clearance.
