Hue is the best residential lighting that money can readily buy. Your anecdotal experience is in the one percent.

It is much better than the Feit bulbs, which start flashing when they lose memory.

I used this in outdoor in Southern California hot sun and cold night, they work flawlessly for close to 5 yrs already.

I bought a couple of feit color bulbs from Costco. IMO, they are the biggest piece of cr*p, nothing but trouble. I suppose they would work if they were installed within 10ft of the wifi access point. I can't even give them away, they got returned back to me 🤣

Sticking with Hue. Trouble free, period.

I have used mine for over 8 hours a day for 5 years now and they're still going strong.

These work best when you don't cut the power to them and use the app or remote to turn it off instead.

The color resets after a blackout but once i turn it off and on again with either their remote or my app, it goes back to normal.
You can have a custom light scene for powering back on after power loss. Just go to the specific light bulb Settings > Power On

I bet you have never had a LIFX bulb. They are light years ahead (pun intended) of hue especially if you are after luminosity and color.

Personally, I found these (philips hue smartbulbs, not this specific item) to be a huge pain in the ass. If I left them off for too long, they'd lose memory of the wifi and flash angrily until I could call them on the phone. Swapping back to normal LED bulbs was a huge relief.
These bulbs work flawlessly with the hub. If you're running them off of Bluetooth I'm sure your mileage can vary..the software on these bulbs are second to none..

I'm conflicted.

On one hand, the hue bulbs are really nice. They are well made, the dimming is good, the light quality is good.

But IMHO, bulbs are consumables (even LEDs fail) and it seems silly to have your smart home control pieces be tied to consumables rather than permanent fixtures or switches. Especially since it makes it easier to operate for guests, for power/internet issues etc to still have physical switches.

But hue won't integrate with other physical hardware. They only work with their own little non-switches…
You really make a point here. But as of yet, I have not replace the smart bulbs at home (been more than 5 years now). I've replace plenty of regular LED bulbs tho and those last about 3-5 years depends on the brand.

Yep, my experience as well. I have most of my rocker style (wide) light switches covered with a clear plastic shield so visitors don't turn off the lights. If internet goes down I have to walk around the house with a straightened out paper clip to turn lights on and off. True story, luckily my internet rarely goes down and most of the time, when it does, power is out as well and I don't have a full house generator. I've had pretty good experience with the Wiz brand bulbs as well. Just bought a couple Cree 100W equiv smart bulbs to try out, I refuse to pay the crazy price on the hue 100W ones. So far so good on those but it's only been a week. Set up was super fast.

Lose memory of the WiFi? These don't even work via WiFi so clearly you don't even know what you're talking about. Stop spreading misinformation

OOS
I ordered the last two boxes.
Thou to be honest, I do not know if Amazon shows OOS per region or is it national.

Automations also work with significantly less lag when done on the Hue hub, such as having the Hue motion sensor and their bulbs. I just wish they had Hue light switch or sockets so it could also control (directly) my exterior spot lights.

Showing in stock for me, although they're not scheduled to ship for several weeks.

Probably got the last "in stock" as in immediate shipment. I went to order a few more just now, and it's only showing "used" for me.

I GUESS this isn't the right product for you but I use mine daily without any memory or connectivity issues, so if you're looking for light automation to use regularly, this is the winner.
