I received the phone today.

What happens if I don't go through with port-in activation? I still see my old spare phone number in Xfinity Mobile. Do I get charged the rest of the discount I got?

When is the last day to activate? I want to delay the activation to use the Amazon Prime for 1 month since I currently have a Prime until end of Sept.

Turn on phone and go through setup using wifi -- it'll install Metro eSIM automatically
Go to their site /activate. Click on activate, and once completed, go to your phone and run through setup cellular. Your esim should show up there.

Sorry for a long prose. I am new to metro. Just ordered one by porting GV. Waiting it to be shipped. For my original number with another provider, I plan to move to metro $25 unlimited plan. In order to use the iphone 12 with my original number on $25 unlimited plan, I am thinking to transfer the ported GV to another IMEI (i have unlocked pixel 7 with an empty second slot) after activation. Once I have done that I would change the IMEI to iphone12 for my original permanent number. The metroflex plan will expire after 30days and my GV will be removed from my account.

Am I understanding the process correctly? Is it the right approach? Will I be able to use the $25 unlimited plan once I change the IMEI to iphone 12?

Also on an unrelated note, when setting up the new iphone 12 with the ported GV, should I use my existing apple ID which is associated with my permanent number? Or create a new ID? Thanks everyone for your input

Good question - Would also like to hear from anyone who's successfully transferred eSIM from Metro iPhone to another (most likely Metro-locked) device before trading in about how the process went. TIA!
I answered my question, mostly

Got my IPhone 12 in today. After stumbling around trying to activate it because mine didn't auto activate, found I could go here and use order number to activate

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/r...s/activate

After that, logged in to Metro account and went ahead and moved my Metro plan to another IMEI - - my Pixel 9's second esim slot

Worked like a charm. All within a few minutes

From here, should be easy to port back to GV

But my main reason for doing this is that I can go to Best Buy mow and trade in the iPhone 12 for my second Pixel 9 while keeping the Metro line active and working so I can order a tablet (see Samsung 20 dollar tablet deal) and have access to the account if needed

Except for your question about "Will I be able to use the $25 unlimited plan once I change the IMEI to iphone 12?"

I think my post above, right before yours, may answer your questions

Thanks for sharing that. Can you tell a bit more about "port back to GV"? Does that mean you would pay $20 to port that number back to GV? And if it is ported back to GV, your metro line will be discontinued, right? I am assuming you plan to get the tablet before that happens unless I am mistaken.

After you received first purchase, can one use add a line to buy additional iPhone 12? It would be $49.99 plus additional line cost ?
I was able to accomplish this. Second phone was $49, google voice number was $3, and the added line was $35 per month. Total price for the second iPhone 12 was $87.

I actually may not port back to GV after all

If it is ported back, then yes, my Metro line would be discontinued. And I actually don't know if that's a good idea, in terms of messing with the original iPhone 12 deal

Moving to an unlocked device from the locked Metro device I bought the plan with (iPhone 12 deal) shouldn't cause a problem and is easy to do, is basically what I found

As for the tablet, it is ordered via your metro account after logged in. It's a whole new line for 20 bucks with tablet free. Similar to this one, you just stop paying after first month to keep free tablet

My question there is whether I can keep tablet in box to have it "activate" and thereby gift it nice and clean to someone after lol

Did you set up a metro online account and then order the 2nd 12?

So you need to unbox the phone and complete the activation ? Also to access the account, it is possible via SMS sent to the iphone12 ?

Can't find the PIN for my Google Voice, there's no "Reset PIN" option under my Google Voice>Voice Mail tab. Anyone know the fix?
