When I switched back to the original device that had the Tracfone service, I just found that device in my online account and clicked the activate button, then keep my number to move everything back. I did not use a new BYOP SIM because as you said, that phone was already paired with the SIM in it.

Hmm... Makes sense, but in the past I got burned a couple of times trying to move the number to another phone, effectively losing the plan - luckily it was only a handful of months lost, but I'm still paranoid when it comes to Tracfone dark magic...
So, assuming my existing plan on my own device has phone number X, does the process look the following:
  • Activate new Orbic phone - during activation select "I want to keep my old number" and transfer it to Orbic, which will have 1yr + remainder of my current plan.
  • Activate next Orbic phone - repeat the above. The 2nd Orbic now has 2 years + remainder
  • ... Go through the rest of the TEU Shipping container with unactivated Orbics repeating the above :-))))
  • Use a new BYOD Tracfone SIM in the original phone and activate it using the existing line number thus inheriting all the accumulated time.
The last step worries me a bit given that Tracfone already has its IMEI in their database. I would really hate if some problem in their technically excellent </sarcasm> system left my line in limbo (had it once and never got them to fix it). Any problems I should be aware of?
Yes, that's right. I don't follow the 3rd bullet.
I've never used a BYOD Sim but, yeah, I think that's the current process. All my old inactive phones were cleared out this year by TF. I did try to reactivate an old device in the spring when I activated the 1st Orbic but it seemed to fail and I didn't press the issue. Only have the 1st Orbic remaining on the inactive devices list now that 2nd has been activated.

Use a virtual CC like one from privacy. Com. They will let you use any name for your orders. Ive order like 6 times from QVC using the virtual credit card. I'll put a different name to my address. It'll show up to QVC as a new email, new name , and new credit card.
***Also set a spending limit on the card for what you're ordering, 2xs QVC conveniently did the correct temporary charge when ordering but "forgot" to apply the discount when the final charge went through at time of shipping and had to chat for 30 minutes and wait like 5 days for a refund for the difference.****

Also use incognito mode to avoid the website for auto logging in from any old accounts or recognizing you from cookies or IP addresses.
How do you bypass using the same billing/shipping address?

I use this yearly thing and have plenty of time/mins on my phone but wouldn't mind upgrading my camera for so cheap. Is this 50mp camera worth upgrading from my A03s 15mp?
Also new phone with less scratches and so much more time for so little is worth it but camera is the deciding factor

The A14 should be better overall. Worth replacing for performance alone.

Check the updated unlock policy as of July 2024, it might automatically unlock.

Thanks a lot for the tip! I just tried this process to extend my existing line and indeed, it worked! Can't believe a Tracfone change can be enacted seamlessly, without a hitch 🤣 (well, not completely seamlessly - I did have to tweak the APN settings).

Also, FWIW, the "spare" I used was a phone purchased more than 2 years ago - so it looks like those packages don't automatically go stale after 1 year since the purchase...

Earlier this year, all but my most recent inactive devices were removed. Anything more than 1 year I think. Does that makes a BYOP sim the best route to go if I want to reuse an old TF phone?

Since Tracfone is owned by Verizon, this must be a Verizon phone. Anybody know if it will work well on AT&T after unlocking

That's a good question and I have no experience with it, but I would guess that the phone and SIM are still paired in Tracfone's system even if they cleaned up the accounts.

You'll have to see if model number is on ATT white list, they're more restrictive than other providers.

Biggest issue right now is that there's no way to know if your ST Moto G Power will actually unlock at 60 days - lots of us are still locked to ST, way past the expected unlock date & have had to file FCC complaints.
There's definitely an issue with the "auto unlock" for the ST G Power right now so if unlock is important I recommend you read the SD thread before making your decision.
My Moto Power 5g 2024 is locked and can't unlocked despite 60+ days. When i call unlock customer support they say it is unlocked from their end. any tip or info on what should i do next to unlock moto power 5g 2024 phone? It was from straight talk and i only bought 30 days silver plan. I bought it from slickdeal. that post is gone. I was wonder, since lot of them bought and also had same issue as me? I also bought this one too, i hope i do not run into same issue again.

I am in the same boat but just got and activated the Moto so have to wait 60 days to see what happens. Hope it is resolved by then.
