Just an FYI, this most likely was "XR". Dewalt is rebranding the new powerstacks as XR so the old style will no longer feature that branding.

Decent deal if you were looking for one of those tools AND a high capacity battery.

Worse than similar deals which usually have better tool selection AND 2 5ahs or a 4 and 6. So 10ah of battery and a better tool for the same price

Yes as a price to performance, it will last longer but not as powerful as the XR ones.

Imo pretty often, those deals are mostly how I've built out my tool kits. They usually pop up around holiday sales, but this might be Dewalt changing the deal, offering (presumably) a cheeper singular battery rather than 2 and a charger.

So if you want the saw and a high capacity battery I'd buy.

Lowes pics for the item point to the black battery being a replacement of XR batteries, not reverse. THis black battery is NEWER than XR ones.

I had no idea. My total guess is that your experience might be YMMV. The Lowe's management at my local store is pretty strict. Recently they declined to match another Lowe's clearance price on an item I wanted.
