Just an FYI, this most likely was "XR". Dewalt is rebranding the new powerstacks as XR so the old style will no longer feature that branding.

Decent deal if you were looking for one of those tools AND a high capacity battery.

Worse than similar deals which usually have better tool selection AND 2 5ahs or a 4 and 6. So 10ah of battery and a better tool for the same price

This is probably hackable but only of purchased IN STORE. I recently discovered this on the deal with the free 5ah powerstack combo. Ive done it twice. When the purchase is made online however the reciept wont show a price breakdown and will show the battery being free. When purchased in store the reciept comes up with the prorated price breakdown like home depot. I been trying to spread the word. Pretty sure this is new for lowes. I told a couple youtubers as well

So let me get this straight. DeWalt batteries are $200 now? Hard pass on the brand, take your "bonus" with you. I'll stick with Makita.

8Ah is good and that's actually a very nice saw but with the 20/60 batteries they have now and sales being a thing, are people still investing in these 20s?

My batteries for my existing tools were getting to be around 5years old and were not lasting as long so went ahead and pulled on this deal with the Hammer Drill Option. I can confirm the battery that I received has XR stamped all over it. Should keep my string trimmer, reciprocating saw, hedge trimmer, and the new hammer drill going for a few more years. I also have the adapter to run a variety of old 12v Dewalt tools with these 20v batteries as well, although just for occasional, home, non-professional use.

It's been a while since I did a "hackable" deal. How would the math work out on this deal? Do they split the cost down the middle? I'm interested in getting the reciprocating saw for cheaper, and returning the battery.

I just did the hack in store with the circular saw, which is prorated to $110, total battery cost $88.40 + tax
