The stainless steel variants have a sapphire crystal screen, instead of the crappier glass on the aluminum models. Sapphire is much more resistant to scratching. In 3 years with the S4 stainless and 2 years with the S8 stainless I've never managed to scratch either one. Smacked against walls, door handles, all kinds of sh*t. Case scratched up? Easy --> polish it. If you care about screen scratches (and they drive you nuts), the stainless is suuuuuuuper worth it for the sapphire screen.

I honestly haven't had many issues at all with the Milanese band that came with my stainless Apple Watch. I have really hairy arms but it's rare for them to catch on the edge of the band. This only applies to the ones made by Apple. If you get a third party no-name Milanese band from eBay or wherever, those will rip your hair out guaranteed.

I'm surprised people say they can sell their old ones. In August 23 I sold an aluminum 7 with AppleCare until June 24 for $300 cash. That was how I funded one of these deals for a stainless with the sapphire glass.

Got a gold 41mm but it was a few hours ago. WIth cheaper band though. Easy to upgrade bands and I prefer the authentic Apple ones. Sometimes the "W" site has clearance deals but still not cheap (like an authentic Apple leather for $40-50 instead of $99). Heard that Apple was going away from any animal leather so if you want dead animal bands, gotta find them on used/clearance market. (I do prefer them honestly; sorry animal)

I bought the 41mm Silver SS Series 8 with Milanese loop for the wife for 249.99. It shouldn't be much larger than her aluminum S6.

If I don't make the buying decision for her every few years, she'll wait until the device is so obsolete that it has zero trade-in value and it hasn't worked in 12 months before informing me it stopped working.

Walmart.com not letting me complete order as I'm on vacation this week in Ireland with message customers outside the US cannot order apple products even though shipping address is my home in NJ where am returning after few days!

for the ppl who missed the item that they wanted to buy.

I wanted to buy 45mm stainless silver with S/M band, but it became out of stock.
I got curious if there was any chance that the product came back, so every 5min, I refreshed the page.
I saw the one I wanted to buy came back to stock and processed the order up to the payment.
However, right before the payment, it became out of stock again, so it got pending mode.
I continued checking every 5min, and it got back again, so I completed the payment.

For 41mm, its $200 and only comes in silver and graphite - no gold option for that size.
