Don't get this phone the CPU on the exynos 1280 has two big and 6 small cores and caused a lot of stuttering. You want at least 4x4 recommend the a54, a35, or moto stylus 2024 5g. Take a look at the budget carriers for port in deals or swappa.com for used, don't ever pay retail for a Motorola too.

nope, the deal doesn't work. Total continues to advertise it but when added to the cart it shows up as 279.99$ plus Total 5G Unlimited plan...
I thought I was going crazy since I couldn't get it to work earlier, too! Seems like false advertising.

If I signup with Tello for 1 month of $10 service can I use that as my port in number with Total by Verizon?
No clue. That would be a good question for TBV support.

What numbers they accept as port-in for identity verification is not a transparent process. Many people have had trouble with it, with solutions that are not consistent.

Can anyone add to cart and see if they get that price. shows up as 279$ for me after verifying identity. It evens says identity discount added at the top of the cart, but the device shows up as 270$
It's free only if you're transfering a number, right?

Would this be an upgrade from a 10e?
TL;DR: 10e is still better in my opinion.

A53/54 USB speeds only go up to 2.0 while the 10e was 3.1. Camera is better on the 10e, and while the a53/54 CPU die uses a smaller size(8nm vs 5nm), the octacore on the 10e I would argue is better because it's cores go to 2.7x2 2.3x2 1.9x4 while the a54 has 2.4x4 and 2.0x4.

BTW, both comparisons are for the Exynos phones.

The A54 is better from the perspective of being more current (10e is older and locked to Android 12, while A54 supports current Android), has eSIM, has a better display capable of 120Hz, Bluetooth 5.3, 25W wired charging and a much bigger/longer battery life.
You will also get more security updates on the A54 vs the 10e from 2019.

But you can always check out a site like gsmarena and compare for yourself. The A54 is not an upgrade in all areas, but the 10e is definitely showing its age at this point.

I got rid of my a54 cuz heating issues, sometimes even on light games and non-gaming apps.
When testing it with heavy games like Diablo Immortal, Fortnite, Genshin...the heat was concerning that I though one day it would burn something inside.

True, you need to port in, but even after selecting port in and verifying the number you want to port in, it doesn't work.

Unless somehow they will refund you after the port in actually goes through.

In which case I would not do that, as judging by totals reputation the will not refund

The a54 and most other phones in this class weren't meant for heavy gaming. It'll handle most uses like email, social media, and photography quickly and without major issues.

There were reports of it being slow before the OneUI 6 update, but that appears to fix it. I never used mine on OneUI 5, so I don't personally have a basis for comparison.

That's fine, I'm not arguing for or against it, just saying it does offer some advantages with respect to a phone from 2019 so people should consider whether it's worth the change.
Besides, everyone gets a dud here and there. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Exynos in general.

Got it from Verizon for $36. Not the best phone. Battery is good, decent camera. Good choice as a cheap phone, but do not expect the S-series capabilities.

I got the A15 and no more heating issues even on heavy games, plays the same as the A54 the only difference is the A54 has higher graphics options in very few games...
If anyone considering the A54 might want to wait for the A55 to drop that has the Xclipse 530 gpu.

As a former owner of many Moto phones (going back to the OG Moto X), they were/are HORRIBLE with updates.
So keep that in mind if it's something you care about.

I think my Moto Z Play got 2 updates during the entire 3.5 years I had it. Samsung updates are much quicker and orders of magnitude more frequent.
Motorola has gotten somewhat better, but they are still not nearly as good as Samsung in that regard.

Otherwise they make some good midrange and value phones.
