I'm very much aware of what he's referring to.

What you fail to realize is that he comments this on every single thread, ad nauseum. There's zero effort to be helpful or informative, so what would you label it? A meme?

As for the rest of your comment, are we just straight up lying at this point?

A BIOS update solves the issue for processors that haven't already been affected.

Even if that weren't the case, as I said previously, the whole system is under manufacturer warranty. It might be inconvenient to buy it only to send it back in six months, but nobody is going to get shafted on this deal.

For anyone who bought a boxed retail processor, Intel has extended their warranty on the component. To say they aren't honoring it is just another lie.

Better 4070 super & Ryzen 7 7800X3D for $100 more. The step from 4070 to 4070 super is substantial, almost 4070 TI performance. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is universally recognized as the best gaming CPU in the market, period. A complete no brainer upgrade for $100 more than this.

it's been available every month for the past 3 months at Best Buy, and will probably be available again soon as we approach the 15th.

It's under warranty as a prebuilt.

Quit trying to be edgy.

Purchased this 5 weeks ago, what are my return/price match options with Costco?
I've had a price drop happen to me within the 90-day electronics return window. I went up to warehouse customer service, was polite but said I noticed the price dropped and I'd rather not put myself and them through the hassle of bringing the item back and doing a return. I just requested a shop card for the difference but they gave me a full refund for price difference to my original payment credit card.

If you bought online you might have less luck with this method in warehouse, but it's worth calling or chatting and trying the same, since you're within your rights to return within 90 days regardless. I think the official 30 day price adjustment policy is pretty silly.

If they still have it in stock, just bring old receipt and buy new item at new price, then return on old receipt. Worst case they hassle you and you explain the situation and just need to go get your old equipment and bring it in. Annoying but worth it if you will save ~$100 or more.

However long the manufacturer warranty is you will go through them. If it is less than 2 years then after it ends you will go through Costco.

He's talking about the inherent instability flaw that has been reported widely with Intel CPUs. Intel is refusing to warranty or do a recall on this and there is no fix. Do your research.
Intel is refusing to warranty? There is no fix? News to me and my research... Care to elaborate with current sources, or are you speaking to us from 3 months in the past?

Look -- at the end of the day, Intel is a loser company that nobody in hardware wants to work for anymore. They've had to sell off multiple business units just to keep their main business afloat because of the horrible predicament they've gotten themselves in. This is well known in Silicon Valley. They're employing the worst of the worst hardware and software engineers and nobody good wants to stay there and watch AMD and Nvidia stock rocket while Intel stock does nothing but sink. It's basic economics. Just research how far behind they are on just the nanometers of their chips. Do you want the worst engineering and yesterday's technology in your product? If so, go ahead and hit the "purchase" button.
I'm at NVIDIA and live across the street from AMDs new facility… this ^^^ is very true.

I've had this since may and it's been good compared to my last 11 year old build. I use for video and photo editing in adobe. I didn't know about the bios update for intel cpu problem but did research last night and updated it with no problems. Just download the bios file from here and put on a usb. Reboot computer and press delete to enter bios and then select m-flash and browse to the file on the usb.

Talk to the people at customer service! You can find the receipt on your app if you don't have it; buy the new one at a lower price, then use the last receipt to return it if they don't do a price match for you.

You have 30 days for a price match, and 90 days to return it. Your best option right now is returning it and buy it again.
