check you local yamaha dealer before buying. They can likely beat the price on all ebikes. i purchased the morrow 7 new for 500 less the online.

Purchased second one today. price went up slightly below is my invoice. price was 2247 (morrow 7) out the door.

For those thinking about getting an ebike but worried about not getting enough exercise, remember this: sitting on the couch thinking about riding your analog bike burns no calories. Riding your ebike because it's fun and you don't have to stress about a hateful hill climb or running out of energy far from home burns a lot more calories!

+1 I live in a hilly area and dread the big inclines that exhaust me and suck the fun out of the rest of the 90%.

E-bikes lets you treat a hill like a flat and 15miles on a flat is way better than a walk.

For extra, I just leave the power off going with the kids… until the leave something behind and then you can haul it on high power and not be pissed at kids.

I might not have the strongest legs, but I definitely have a better chance of surviving a bear chase on eBike if we're both climbing a steep mountain road. You don't have to ride faster than the bear to get away; just faster than the guy next to you.

I have exact same motor on the gasgas g trail 3.0 which has 20 mph speed limit on it. It is totally fine with it because it is MTB. Is it has same speed limit? How eRoad bike feeling?

This bike is a class 3, so up to 28 mph with motor assistance. Most torque sensor e-bikes feel the same to me, like you have super strong legs or as my wife describes it "someone flattened the hills". My e-bike experience has mostly been with mid drives like this model

My order went through without a hitch. I'm thinking these are delivered assembled via the velofix network (shown as YELLOW JERSEY SUPPLY, INC.(DBA VELO). Mine appears to be going the the next door warehouse of a local bikeshop and not my closest Yamaha dealer.

I extensively mountain and road bike. You might be able to go quicker and faster for a short duration. But this will go further and longer with just a mediocre peddler. Hmmm. Sounds like a "that's what she said" sorta moment.

I have both an aggressive cf road race and df full suspension MTB. Neither is very comfortable for longer casual riding/commuting. This is perfect for that. Now I will have all rides covered.

Wait till you get older. I'm a former road racer. At my point in life, I cannot beat the hellish climbs in my area (CO). An e-road flattens my ride. I can get out for a 30 to 40 miler, a sweet spot in terms of time, scenery, and desire, and not be denied by serious climbs.

This is an often cited article but comes with a giant asterisk... Two actually. #1 this website is entirely dedicated to promoting electrification. But more importantly an ebike absolutely will give you less exercise if your limiting factor is time. Unless you turn off the assist, which defeats the purpose and would just be senseless torture. Or unless you are hyper-disciplined to push yourself to the same level of exertion as you would otherwise. I think most people, myself included are far too lazy for that. When you are already cruising at speeds that an ebike allows with only a mild amount of effort, the amount of work to go each tiny bit faster dramatically increases due to drag. You get very little reward for increasing effort.

For those who find ebikes get them to spend a lot more time on a bike versus sitting on the couch then that is awesome. For me, the amount of time spent sitting on the couch when I could be biking is basically zero.

The TLDR version is: You'll get more exercise riding an ebike than not riding a regular bike.

Meh there are a whole host of other reason why advanced peddlers (I have high end road race and CF full susp MTB) would want one of these. I am getting the Wabash RT because you can use it to train and control assistance for progressive hill climbing, and more importantly... for long casual, low intensity commuting and distance/non technical riding. My other two bikes are WAY too uncomfortable/ inefficient for this. I spend minimal time on the couch, spend 5 days a week weight training in the gym and also ride and do other stuff. I'm no couch potato and I think this is perfect for a gap between my two extreme pedal-only rides.

For sure. I'm not arguing they have no place. Just cautioning against taking articles that have an agenda behind them at face value.
