check you local yamaha dealer before buying. They can likely beat the price on all ebikes. i purchased the morrow 7 new for 500 less the online.

Purchased second one today. price went up slightly below is my invoice. price was 2247 (morrow 7) out the door.
For those thinking about getting an ebike but worried about not getting enough exercise, remember this: sitting on the couch thinking about riding your analog bike burns no calories. Riding your ebike because it's fun and you don't have to stress about a hateful hill climb or running out of energy far from home burns a lot more calories!
Apparently it's Yamaha ebike week on SD

I didn't have any dealer fees for either option except for that $15 fee. If I try to check out today with my zip, I do see a dealer fee of $138 for the N Miami Yamaha and delivery is no longer an option. If I switch the zip code to the Kendall area, I can pick it up at a dealer on Biscayne Blvd and 89st for $15. I can also get it delivered down there with the Kendall zip and I'm guessing it's a different mobile shop than that one from Boca.
Damn, should've jumped when I first saw it. Classic SD mistake not buying first and thinking later....serves me right.

I guess the silver lining is I can work out any sizing issues or get add-ons installed at the dealer to save me the hassle.

Just bought the medium. Planning on putting on some semi slick tires (Specialized Nimbus 2 Sport) 700x45c to get rid of some knobby tire pavement noise. We'll see how quiet the motor is then Wink

Those are nice tires. I wonder how well they will do in the gravel and on dirt roads. Were you thinking of changing out your stem for a suspension stem and maybe a red shift seat post for comfort? I'm thinking about doing that. I'm 5'10" and ordered my Wabash RT in a large. I hope it's not to big. My local dealer only had the the Wabash 2020 model in small to test.

I have those on my MTB and they have pretty good traction. I never felt like I was in fear of slipping. It's even good on wet grass, just have to be careful. When I get the bike, I'll see how far I want to take changing out anything, money will be low lol. I'm 5'-10" and got the medium, I'm sure you'll be okay in large because we straddle a fine like between sizes given our height.

I ordered the Yamaha on 9/9/24 order approved and billed my credit card, it was "pending" till 9/14/24 and the credit card removed it - was my order canceled?
On 9/16/24 called Yamaha said my order was NOT canceled they overwhelmed processing a large amounts of orders and they will contact me when my bike is shipped to my local Yamaha Dealer usually takes 7 to 10 days.
Called the local Yamaha Dealer he has 200+ orders and approved orders come in from Yamaha about 2 per day and when they receive my bike they will contact me, he said give it a month to receive your bike.

Same fee of $15 delivery to my local Yamaha Dealer, includes assembly and fitting the bike to your body size, could have had delivery direct to my house but that's an extra $300

Yep — picked up a road bike that used to sell for $7k new for $1300. They definitely get up there.
I feel like an e-bike and a $7k road bike are for totally different use cases. if you want to exercise, a road bike is a no brainer. if you strictly want to commute and don't care about exercise, an e-bike is a no brainer.

I'll use the Wabash RT for commuting because I'm less likely to sweat as much going up steep hills going to work. On the weekend I thought about having a spare set of road tires to swap too and turn down the assist to eco+ so it is closer to a regular bike. Unless they cancel my order. hahaha

You mean from Yamaha direct order?
If so, I did not heard anything after initial order and email confirmation. Email confirmation said that they will send additional update then 7 days later, I got a phone call from my dealer and said my bike is ready to pickup. Looks like my order went through immediately then Yamaha shipped next day or two since I was one of people who ordered earlier then it took 3-4 days to deliver to my bike shop then they assembled it right away.

I just rode Wabash RT today without power for 10mins to test. Unlikely hub motor e-bike, Wabash can ride without power because there was no motor resistance from wheel. People can exercise with e-bike if one adjusts motor assistances or even without power.

Definitely it's heavy for uphill comparing to my 17ish LBS road bike but it's doable without power. Actually I like downhill because of weight hahaha.

I am not happy about gear shifting… probably I might need to adjust myself even though my dealer did tune up for the bike. Brake felt decent but not super great. Probably I need break-in period then I thought about crosscore brake should be better since it's heavier than Wabash….

Memo from Flyrides,

"We are not taking orders for Yamaha eBikes at this time, as we are not sure how many are left. Once we get an update from Yamaha, we will reach out to those on our waitlist to take orders."
